Do any of you remember her? She had songs like "Eighteen Wheels And A Dozen Roses" and "Time Passes By". I thought that she was a brilliant singer.

Great singer! Great voice! "Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses" is a good song! :thumb: I only have her first cd though. :)

I got her Innocent Years album from 2000, which is pretty good. I had no idea that she was around in the 80's.

I just heard her on "Retro Country" this past week with a double shot. I need to pick up her greatest hits :) the song they played first was a real pretty slow song that I don't remember the name of. She has a wonderful voice.

I always enjoyed Kathy Mattea. There was one song from her that I really liked, but I can't remember the name of it. I just remember that it was a very sad song that made me want to cry!!! :(

I don't know if y'all remember Patty Loveless, but I was always gettin' the two mixed up, they came out around the same time.
I know Kathy Mattea had a string of hits in the 80's but I can't remember another off hand, but I do remember there being a tear-jerker in there.

Could the song have been "Where've You Been"? It goes, "Where've you been?, I've looked for you forever and a day. Where've you been?, I'm just not myself when you're away."

Her (Kathy's) husband wrote it for her to sing when he heard his mother ask that of his father. She had some kind of medical problems, I'm not sure what, but she had memory loss. But she remembered her husband.

Besides that song, the only song I like by Kathy Mattea is "455 Rocket", but that's not an 80s tune.

I knew I could count on Val! Yes, it was the song "Where Have You Been?" that I was referring to in the above post! That was one of those sad country songs that I liked to listen to when I was depressed or sad!!!

OMG, I love Patty Loveless' music! I thought that she was such a good singer. I have her Greatest Hits album and my favorite song is "Hurt Me Bad (In A Real Good Way)".

Yes Val, it was "Where've you been"!!!! I just bought her greatest hits and it was on there....thank you thank you thank you!!!

No prob, my dear! ;) I only like two songs by her, but I remember all the ones I don't like, too. :lol:

My favorite Patty Loveless song would have to be....hmmmm....I have a few, actually. But I think 'How Can I Help You (To Say Goodbye)' and 'You Don't Even Know Who I Am' would be two of the best...

I wonder if I still have those four cassettes I had of hers....I'll have to look. ;)
