What is your favorite Sisters Of Mercy song? This was tough for me because I like a lot of their songs. I voted for "More" though. I could listen to that song over and over.

View Full Version : Favorite Sisters Of Mercy Song Iluvthe80s 4-01-02, 07:40 PM What is your favorite Sisters Of Mercy song? This was tough for me because I like a lot of their songs. I voted for "More" though. I could listen to that song over and over. Trixter 4-01-02, 07:50 PM  Stacy, remember, "What, Sisters Of Mercy? Yeah." I voted for "Temple Of Love" only because it's the only one I know. :D The80sAngel 4-01-02, 07:52 PM I voted "Body and Soul" as my fav, followed -very- closely by "More" and "This Corrosion". But, NOW, I'm never gonna let you forget it!!! ;) 80sTrivia 4-01-02, 08:30 PM "I hear the roar of a big machine Two worlds and in between Hot metal and methedrine I hear empire down I hear empire down"... "Lucretia, My Reflection" gets my vote! :) VioletFoxx 4-01-02, 10:52 PM Tough poll Stacy. My vote went to Other. First and Last and Always is my fav. :) wavemaster 4-01-02, 10:53 PM Say, is this the "Making a tough decision - Week" ? ;) From all the songs the Sisters have made, it's again a tie decision..."Marian" from 'First, Last And Always' and "Under The Gun" from 'A Slight Case Of Overbombing - Greatest Hits Vol. 1'. And, there is a pretty obscure version of "Jolene" I´ve heard during a live concert... Flix 4-05-02, 01:55 PM I voted for More. The intro is amazing and it's one of those songs I never get tired of. Steve Savicki 4-09-02, 08:17 PM other because I haven't heard their music in awhile to make an accurate decision at the moment. :p Mary 4-10-02, 02:18 PM Originally posted by 80sTrivia "I hear the roar of a big machine Two worlds and in between Hot metal and methedrine I hear empire down I hear empire down"... "Lucretia, My Reflection" gets my vote! :) Oo, sing it ;) I love his voice in that song. Basses are so sexy. Bogie 4-25-02, 01:20 PM I went with Other. Heartland was the first of their tracks that I heard. And it's still my fave. Wave, Jolene is hilarious. I've only heard it on bootlegs though. It really is very good. Last time they came through Toronto they did a pretty good version of Comfortably Numb too. That was interesting. BlitzKid 4-30-02, 04:45 AM I've choosen "other" as well as I really like Marian, maybe because it is English and German. *sings* Ich hör dich rufen Marian... sketcher 4-30-02, 08:06 AM I choose Temple of Love because I'm an Ofra Haza fan! When I first heard the song, I thought it was Men Without Hats! RetroMan 5-11-02, 06:27 AM 'This Corrosion' is my fave! - every time it rains at night, I put on some 80's sunglasses, un button my shirt, run outside and re-enact the film clip! I get my friend Beccy to do the girl parts, she looks like a younger version of that lady in the clip :) it's lots of fun Pippi 5-27-02, 07:31 PM I also voted for This Corrosion. The Floodland cd is such a good cd. Kayenne 6-13-02, 03:12 AM Lucretia My Reflection gets my vote but This Corrosion is a close second wingback 8-10-04, 05:32 PM They did so many great songs temple of love, alice, floorshow but my favorite has to be Adrenochrome so much energy i used to hurl myself round the club to that DJ Midas 8-11-04, 02:04 PM I went with "Walk Away" followed by "Marian". jillybean 8-11-04, 03:20 PM I went with "More" as it was the first song I ever heard by them. After that, I was hooked. I could listen to anything by them, gotta love that voice!!! mjayeh 8-26-04, 10:25 PM I also voted for This Corrosion. The Floodland cd is such a good cd. I'm with Pippi on this one both for This Corrosion and FLOODLAND being an outstanding album. :thumb: SweetestJezebel 8-27-04, 02:02 PM Other...'Ribbons' is my fave SOM song. spudsoup 8-27-04, 02:31 PM oh man. We used to go to this punk club in the early 90's and all i remember is the goths doing this weird little dance to "vision thing" and "dominion". By the way, what the hell is with all these bands doin covers of Dolly Parton's "Jolene"? I just heard this kickass version of the White Stripes doin it too. Bogie 8-27-04, 05:23 PM We used to go to this punk club in the early 90's Which one? spudsoup 8-29-04, 10:04 AM I know we're off topic here but it was called "Geegee's" or Gigi's. Ya, that was it "Gigi's". It was in the market. All it was was a black door. No sign. You went down in these long stairs and boom. Found yourself in a great club with wicked music. Bogie 8-29-04, 10:45 AM I hope we'll be forgiven for going slightly off topic...but there isn't a thread for this :) Is the door close the Jardin Grecque? Long time since I lived in Ottawa but there used to be a club right there that you went downstairs to enter. Can't remember what it was called then. Close to where Zaphod Beeblebrox was a couple of years ago (not sure if that is still operating now either). spudsoup 8-29-04, 01:22 PM That is exactly it. Weird. Hurrah Brother 9-02-04, 01:15 PM The entierity of Floodland is good and goes well as an LP As much as i love More, Alice, or even the sisterhood EP stuff, I have to plump for Dominion/Mother Russia, partialy because the drum pattern meshes excellently with the drum pattern on New Orders Blue Monday whistledog 9-13-04, 07:39 PM Lucretia was a cool song :thumb: Nienna 9-18-04, 11:18 AM Holy rock and a hard place, Batman -- this is a tough one. They're all good! (although I'm not super enthusied about every single new one) Nine While Nine, Flood I&II, Torch, Some Kind Of Stranger... uhm :irked: You know what... it's just too hard to pick just one. Mr Morningstarr* 4-30-06, 01:23 PM Some Kind of Stranger for me, although it was difficult choosing just one off First and Last and Always. ****ing mint album! :dgrin: Monty007® 8-06-06, 02:50 AM This Corrosion human clone 2-07-07, 01:52 PM Lucretia My Reflection |
