Hey Y'all,

Who could forget this super group from the 80's? I know their success here in the US was limited, but they had some great songs that never got played here. Which song was your favorite?

I had to vote for "The Sun Always Shines On TV"... one of those great songs that never gets played on the radio anywhere. I was listening to my cassette of "Hunting High and Low" a few months back, and I think I played "The Sun Always Shines On TV" about four times in a row... :D

"The sun always shine on TV" I'm so sick of "Take on me". I can always tell when I have a new listener to the 80's Rewind because "Take on me" is the song they always request.

Great song, even better video!

My all time favourite A-ha song was off their 1990 album "Crying in the rain".

I am a major a-ha fan. Their greatest hits album, 'Headlines and Deadlines' is awesome. My favorite is Crying In The Rain, followed by Move to Memphis and Train Of Thought. Of the one's listed, Hunting High And Low is the best.

"Living a Boy's Adventure Tale" is by far my favorite song of A-Ha's. "Blue Sky" is my second favorite followed by "Cry Wolf"

I went with Hunting High & Low. Always a favorite of mine. Love the vocals on that song.

Tough one, Trixter...since I´ve never heard a bad song from A-ha, at least not during the 80s.

"I´ve Been Losing You" is my absolute favourite, like the whole "Scoundrel Days"-album.

For all others who only know "Take On Me"...leech your favourite P2P-program until the harddrive is bursting, or better, get the albums! ;)

I voted for "Take On Me", which is a great song and also the only song I know from A-ha.

Soo many great songs from A-ha through the years - it's hard to pick, if not impossible ;) Did manage to vote for Hunting High & Low, though, but it really could have been any of those up there.

One of the greatest albums, though, is Scoundrel Days. The title track is really awesome and powerful. And btw. I'm going to a concert with them i June - gonna be great :D

I voted for "The Sun Always Shines On TV". As good as "Take On Me" was a bit simple and I felt that "The Sun Always Shines On TV" was better musically and lyrically.

First choice is "Crying In The Rain", followed by "Sun Always Shines" and "Take On Me".

Hunting Hugh And Low. A great ballad and a cool video as well. I always liked Living A Boy's Adventure Tale as well. Those two songs alone makes the Hunting High And Low album fantastic. :)

Harkett,

I went to an a-ha concert back in 1985. It was kind of a funny scene, we were the only guys in site as the whole audience was filled with girls between the age of 10-13. Probably like a Backstreet Boys concert would be. Scoundrel Days was a good album. I liked all the songs except 'Manthattan Skyline' which eventually grew on me. I don't understand how a-ha didn't continue to have success in the USA.

Depeche Moderator,

I liked 'Living A Boy's Adventure Tale' also, that whole first album was great.

Greenway88,

I went and saw them in Norway March 2001, and I think the percentage was around 40/60, still in the girls favour though, but better than could have been "feared" ;)

As I understand it, they are actually planning to re-enter the US market with the new album. If you wanna check it out, go to http://www.a-ha.com/ - there you'll find all the info you need.

Cheers

Went with "Take on Me". It is the only song I am familiar with. The video for the song is cool as well. Can't imagine what it would be like shifting back-and-forth from real-life character to comic-book character:)

Cry Wolf because it's so powerful and rock felt.
Unavailable choice would be Train Of Thought (http://www.cdnow.com/from=sr-181894/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=1470116616/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/album.html/artistid=A-HA/itemid=420948) though I have not heard the original (http://www.cdnow.com/from=sr-181894/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=1470116616/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/album.html/artistid=A-HA/itemid=323545).
Wait, I'll sample it right now.

That poll ist one of the best! I was the biggest a-ha fan when i was a teenager and "The sun always shines on TV" was the song that made me fall for them. There are still shivers running down my spine when i hear the first tones played unexpactedly on the radio or in a club.

If only they'd play this song on the radio and clubs here! The usual "Take On Me" plays but my #1 choice is "The Sun Always Shines On TV". It's just so majestic. Another song I play loud in my car. My only complaint is the song's extended version has and added out-of-place percussion.

Aha had more than one song? Had I heard more than "Take On Me" I would probably like them more. I never need to hear that song again (1,000 a year is enough).

Take On Me!

Its a song I always play on an eighties set, if only to see people trying to reach the high notes, and EVERYBODY knows the chorus.

So its a winner!!

What an awesome band, and to think they are still playing shows out there today. I have loved the "Hunting High And Low" album since my brother brought it on tape when it was originally released. Only recently have i come across a copy on CD of "Scoundrel Days", after having it on tape for so many years too. I voted for "I've Been Losing You", although i would have voted for "The Blue Sky" if it had been in the poll.

What a choice... *gulps*

I voted for "Take On Me" (I mean, the VIDEO... What I wouldn't have done to be the girl in that video... *sighs* ;) ). But I love so many of their other songs. "You Are The One" is a big favourite of mine, and I love "Living A Boy's Adventure Tale" from their "Hunting High and Low" album...

(I may just have to listen to some a-ha now... *planning to locate them on my Windows Media Player* :) )

Sick and tired of "Take On Me". My vote easily went to "Sun shines on TV", a song that rocks and makes you move compared to the slow pop beat of "Take on Me"

I'm currently addicted to 'Train Of Thought' and it's brilliant video on YouTube....just a great, powerful song and fantastic video effects.

If I could vote again, I'd vote for that :)
