What is the best song by Billy Joel from the 80s?

I'm gonna duck before saying this, but I voted for "We Didn't Start The Fire", I think that songs great! The video with Marlee Matlin is fantastic as well!! :thumb:

'We Didn't Start The Fire' - I agree with The Trixman on this.

I thought it was genius by Billy, the way the lyrics were put together was awesome.

I had to vote for "We Didn't Start The Fire". I believe this song encapsulated most of the 20th Century in a little over three minutes, which is an amazing feat!!! :)

Not sure about this one, but Uptown Girl got my vote. I have been spotted singing along to the Westlife cover of this song recently. :D

I went for "Tell her about it". I used to hate Billie Joel until I heard this song and after that I was hooked. Now I like all his old stuff too!

My faves are a tie between "Leningrad" and "Downeaster Alexa"...whenever I hear those tracks, shivers are running down my spine, and that happens pretty rarely.

My third choice would have been "We Didn´t Start The Fire" - a strong song with a strong message.

I'm not a huge fan of Billy Joel's music from the 1980's, with the exception of "Glass Houses"(1980). I like his older stuff. But one of my favorites of his from the 80's is "Big Man On Mulberry Street". Every year at my Birthday, my friends would sing this song to me. Of course this was after we polished off our first case of Scotch of the night.

I've never been a real big Billy Joel fan but I voted for Pressure. I'm surprised it got so many votes.

Very, very hard to choose, but I voted "Other" because my fave Billy Joel tune is "I Go To Extremes", which actually charted in 1990. But in the 80's my fave was "Allentown".

His greatest hits collection is probably the cd box I know most of my friends own. It seems to be a classic among music lovers.

I went with "Allentown", its a great tune with a wonderful story to it. I always imagine that Bruce could have thought this one up as well!

There can only be one!!! We Didn't Start The Fire is by far the BEST song on this list!! I can remember making up my own lyrics and I love the film clip - they play this song a lot on MusicMax here and I just love the clip.

There's just too many of Billy's songs that are awesome. I've said it before and I'll say it again, he's one of the greatest - if not THE greatest - songwriters that ever lived.

Went with You May Be Right. I was going to pick "Other", but couldn't remember if Piano Man was 70's or 80's.

There wasn't a bad song on that list. But, I went with "A Matter Of Trust." Like so many songs in The 80s, it had great memories for me.

What a great artist who has great songs across the decades. I voted for "You May Be Right", i may be crazy but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for. Yeah top song, that really speaks to me. "We didn't start the fire" is good too so that would have been my second choice.Another couple of great songs "Modern Woman" and "You're Only Human" (Second Wind), which i listen to both regularly.
