Do you remember where you were when you heard the depressing news about Karen Carpenter's death?

It was such a tragedy...:(

I can't say that I remember the actual moment that I heard. I'm sure I heard it on the news. I do recall reading about her death in the tabloids, as her death was the result of her battle with the insidious disease anneroxia nervosa. She looked like a living skeleton shortly before her death. Indeed, quite sad...

It was February 1983 and I was living in Hawaii, they actually made the announcement in school, the school was very laid back!
It was a sad moment in musical history, Karen had the voice of and Angel! She's sorely missed. :(

I remember finding out on the news...so sad. :(

I've always loved her voice and still when I hear a Carpenter's song, I stop and sing along. I think she had one of the most beautiful voices ever heard.
