Hey Y'all,

Donald Fagan of Steely Dan fame, had an album out in the early 80's called the "Nightly" and it spawned the single "IGY", was that the only song Mr. Fagan had a hit with?

I remember the Donald Fagan song Snowbound did pretty well here in Europe. I can't remember what album it's from, but it's really laid back and catchy.

There was the song "New Frontier". Not sure if it was a single or not, but there was a video that got a lot of airplay.

Thanks Flix and Stacy for the information, I guess I've missed some of Mr. Fagan's work, and I guess he doesn't qualify as a one hit wonder, but still a good singer nonetheless! :thumb: :)

Fagen only made two solo records, "The Nightfly" in 1982 and "Kamakiriad" in 1993, so he hasn't released many singles - his only solo song in that 11-year gap was "Century's End" on the Bright Lights, Big City soundtrack in '88. But both of those albums sold well on their own (gold and platinum, respectively).

Thanks for the additional information Cartoon_Chris. I had no idea Donald Fagan released and album in the '90's? Were there any singles spawned from that album?

Three: Tomorrow's Girl, Trans-Island Sky and Snowbound. The first one was a minor hit in Britain but other than that, they didn't go anywhere.

Donald Fagen's album was The Nightfly (1983).

IGY was his only top 40 songbut that album also had a song called New Frontier that got considerable play on MTV (anybody remember the date in the bomb shelter video) that made it into the 'Hot 100'.

In 1988 he also had a song called Century's End that made it into the hot 100, but not the top 40.

I really do not consider Donald Fagan as a "one hit wonder". I think that he is a very established artist and over all very cool.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he isn't cool, because he is, I'm just wondering what else, if anything, that he's released, and I'm glad to see that he has! :)
