Hey Y'all,

Since I am a big fan of Fleetwood Mac, I was curious to see what you consider their best song of the 80's?

I voted for 'Big Love'.

My favourite non-80's song has to be 'The Chain' from the 'Rumours' album. The second half of that song was used as the theme tune to the Formula 1 highlights programme on BBC1 for 13 years.

Trixter, Your poll happens to be about my favorite band of the 70's. Rumours was the first album I ever bought and Go Your Own Way was my favorite song along with many others. As far as their 80's
stuff I had to go with Love in Store.

Finally! A moderately easy poll! Hehehe. I LOVE the Mac. I voted for Gypsy. It was my nickname (one of many) in high school. Nowadays, it's practically my signature song. :D ;)

I simply love Fleetwood Mac and all of the songs listed in this poll are fantastic. Ultimately, I voted for "Everywhere", as I love the opening music and the catchy chorus. :)

Little Lies. :) I like a lot of Stevie Nicks's solo and duets with others more, though, I think. :)

Hold Me.
Unfortunately there is not an adequate box set (http://www.cdnow.com/from=sr-181894/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=1618745921/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/discography.html/ArtistID=FLEETWOOD+MAC) that fits my needs or has that song on it!

I went with "Little Lies". I know I'm going to be pilloried for this, but I always liked Christine McVie's voice best.

It could almost be any of the songs in the poll, but eventually I went for "Other", as the song "Diane" from their "Mirage" album bring back so many great memories ;)

Chris wrote most of Fleetwood Mac's biggest hits. One reason I became a fan of FM is because with 3 singers there are so many different songs, styles, and sounds from the band. And all 3 harmonize so beautifully with one another! Christine is tired of touring, so I haven't heard anything definate on if she'll record any songs on the up-coming FM album. In an interview, Mick said it would be hard because they couldn't play any of her songs off the album on tour. IMO since no band ever plays ALL their new songs on tour, let Chris be on the album:)

Oh this one is a no-brainer for me: definitely "Gypsy". It's got the most beautiful melody, and Stevie is in true gypsy form in the video.

other: (there are no FM cuts that i don't like... it's all various degrees of like/love/lust. here are some that are HIGH on my list, that won't get mentioned here.... fwiw, Tusk is my fave album)

- from the Live album: Fireflies and Farmer's Daughter... both in my top 5. loved FF fervently, alone, for the longest time. the advent of the Internet made it easier to connect with other FM fans, and the various fan interpretations of the "meaning" of this one just boosted my appreciation for this one even more. FD opened my eyes to the incredible influence Brian Wilson had. i hate nursery rhymes and lullabyes, so i used this one a lot w/ my son when he was an infant. supposedly, lyrics mean little to them until they get older, right?

- from Mirage: That's Alright, Eyes of the World, Empire State, Straight Back, Love in Store.... here's 5 different sides of the same entity. took me many years to come around on these. got a japanese pressing of this that sounds soooooooo juicy.

- from Tango: Caroline, Tango in the Night.... i mentioned these in another thread. clear examples of pushing the creative envelope, a la Tusk.

I chose HOLD ME, just because of that little yelp Christine McVie lets out all throughout the song.

Hmmmm....I would have to say I really didn't care for Fleetwood Mac's 80's stuff. The 70's was their decade as far as I'm concerned, However, Stevie Nicks DID (and in some ways still is) look HOT!

I'm not sure if this was 80's or not, but my favorite Fleetwood Mac song is 'Landslide'. It is a beautiful song :)
