Hey Y'all,

I'm curious to know what cartoons take up your time these days? C'mon, don't be shy....

I'll start. I truly enjoy "Spongebob Squarepants" on Nickelodeon. That show is hilarious and the characters are on the mark!! I just purchased the DVD containing 10 episodes, yesterday! :thumb:

Man, now I can tell my sis(majorfan11) that another adult besides myself loves that show. It is hilarious:lol: The only episode she likes is the Texas episode. When Sponge Bob and Patrick are giving Sandy a hard time about "stupid Texas"
Because of my son I have grown to like alot of the new cartoons on Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

I think I told you this in chat one day, Trix, but I will tell everyone else too. I have always liked "Rocko's Modern Life" that is shown on Nickelodeon. Are they even still showing it? I haven't seen it on there lately.

I love Pepper Ann (http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/Stage/8289/index2.html)! It's on Toon Disney several times a day. Thank Fuzzy!

Other new cartoons I like: Samurai Jack & Powerpuff Girls. I enjoy Weekenders, too.

I still watch a lot of older cartoons on Toon Disney and CN... but I won't list them here ;)

The Simpsons and South Park, but I don't get to watch them as much as I'd like. My girls like to watch Rug Rats when they wake up early at the weekend and I usually watch that with them.

Only the Simpsons and occassionally Futurama.

But I gotta put a plug in for Rug Rats. That show is just so funny!

I still watch the Simpsons. I enjoy The Family Guy, whenever Fox decides to run it. And, of course, Spongebob Square Pants!!!

Yeah, I remember Stacy! "Rocco's Modern Life" was a riot, especially Heffer, his cow friend raised by wolves! Gee, I haven't seen an episode in ages, I don't think it's in rotation like it was before on Nickelodeon. Too bad, hilarious cartoon!!! :thumb:

Justice League on the CARTOON NETWORK is very good. It's a '00s version of Superfriends. I hate to say this, but this show is much, much better. The characters are all well developed with their own personalities. Whereas on the old '70s-'80s Superfriends show Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman all acted the same. In Justice League the Flash is a cocky bastard that is quick with the wit. It's great. The only annoying part is that Superman has turned into a complete whimp on this series. He can barely pick up truck!!

Ofcourse there are there are Simpsons, and Family Guy.

My favorite is Space Ghost Coast To Coast. He's a talk show host and it's absolutely hilarious! His sidekick Zorak makes fun of him all the time, and the technician Baltar is just as bad. It is just so goofy I can't help but laugh my butt off. One time they did a sort of compilation of all Space Ghost's "greatest moments" on the old action show, which consisted of all his worst moments, and Space Ghost got pissed. They said it was a "montage", and so he got mad at the French because it's a French word, so he hopped in his spaceship and went and levelled France.

Well, maybe you had to be there :) It was sooooo funny.

Also Sealab 2021 - they re-did the Original Sealab series and made a comedy out of it.

And of course South Park. Obey my autority!!! Cartman rules. He's my role model.

generally i watch an occasional episode of simpsons, south park, speed racer and scooby doo amongst others 60's and 70's cartoons showing on cartoon network

anyone watch dragonball z?

it's actually not too bad! (plus got a cool theme song!)

i liked the episodes where the main goodguy "goku" fought the super baddies like "fresa" (i think is a guy but sourta sounds like a chick) and his henchmen

i like how they just face off and basically trash talk each other for a whole episode without actually fighting:lol:

space-invader, I ocassionally watch Dragon Ball Z. It is way to detailed and I really don't have too much time to get into it at the moment, but believe my son updates me every chance he gets.

Have you watch any of the unedited versions of the show on video? My son wants them, but I don't know if they are too graphic or not.(he's still young, don't want to warp his mind anymore than it already is)

I only watch a few of the cartoons of today unlike in the 80's where they had so many good cartoons I probably liked about 80% of the cartoons from the 80's.The ones I like now are The simpsons although I don't watch it as much as I used to a few years ago.I also like Sailor Moon a lot.I watch it whenever I can.I'm not up in the morning that often but when I am I watch it.I've been up in the morning the past few days so I had a chance to watch it.I also like King of the Hill but The Simpsons is my favorite!!

Hello! Well, my fave cartoons are Cybersix and the various X-Men series from the 90’s and today. I also like the Simpsons, but I don’t TRULY consider it 90’s since it did begin in the 80’s. On the whole though, I think that cartoons and family shows were done better in the 80’s. I really wish that some of them would be given another chance and be put on the air. I’ve written letters and e-mails to various TV stations and networks, and most of them said sorry, we cannot reair these kind of shows because they’re “dated”. These are the same kinds of networks that keep the Flintstones on the air, not that I’m dissing the Flintstones or Hanna-Barbera (their shows are classics), but I just think that comparatively speaking, a lot of the shows that have never went off the air are 20, 30 years older than the 80’s, and in many ways, it shows. Oh, well. Anyway, please tell me- do you think I’m correct- that TV stations are hypocritical, especially when it comes to animated series... I’d love to hear your thoughts on the subject. :) Michelle

I still watch Tom and Jerry, Scooby Doo, and a few others on Cartoon Network. Aside from those cartoons, I don't really keep up with any others. I might watch The Simpsons every now and then, though.

Oh boy...well, I almost never miss Hey Arnold! on Nick, Sundays at 8pm are reserved for the Simpsons, and Wednesday nights I have to watch South Park. I also tape Max Steel at 6:30am every morning. Those have been my "regular" cartoons.

If I have the opportunity, I'll watch Powerpuff Girls (there are loads of cultural references, and my husband and I loved the Beat Alls episode), As Told By Ginger, Zoids, Invader Zim (loved Jhonen Vasquez's comics), Freakazoid, Dexter's Laboratory, Sheep in the Big City, Pelswick, and the Fairly Odd Parents ("Where did you get that?" "Internet")

I do! My friend is a nut and buys the series on video. When you buy it on video or dvd it is more uncut and you see more blood and death.

I like Vegeta and Goku and Picclo Gohan (as a kid).
Oh and its Frieza.

They have a trading card game for it, so you can battle as your faverite hero or villain. pm or post another message if you want to here more about it space invader, and/or go to the offical card game web site

I'm a huge fan of Batman Beyond and, with the exception of two or three episodes that I didn't like, have the entire series taped. That show definitely makes my "revive" list along with Jem. [But that's a topic for a completely separate thread. :D ] There was so much more that could have been explored before BB was abruptly and unceremoniously dropped from the WB lineup.

I also regularly catch Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Laboratory, among others. [Except for the most recently made Dex' episodes. What were they thinking? :wha:] The episode where Dexter tries to subliminally learn French over night and wakes up able to say only "omellette du fromage" is classic!

And, I have to admit that Spongebob Squarepants grows on ya. This is gonna sound weird, but the thing that really keeps me from enjoying that show more [besides Patrick] is the fact that Spongebob reminds me of a guy I'd worked with several years ago [At a fast food place no less!] who sounded and spoke unbelieveably like him. It's true! Maybe I should've called myself "Squidzilla"?...Naaaaaaaah

Oh I also LOVE Daria.

My all-time favorites are Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, & the Disney classics. I am waiting for a Chip & Dale DVD.

These days I watch King Of The Hill & The Simpsons, tho I will turn The Simpsons off if Homer is too stupid. Some episodes just take it too far for me. I'll also watch South Park and The House Of Mouse once in awhile.

I love seeing old Jonny Quest episodes on Cartoon Network. And if I catch Hong Kong Phooey, forget it!

In the 90s I loved Beavis & Butthead to death. I sat up all night more than once watching marathons with friends.

In the 80s, nothing beat Jem. Another show that really should be released on DVD!

They have to keep running outside when they need to scream or yell or something. I think I remember one of them having to burp in a jar so they don't make noise and wake up droopy then running outside with it and opening up the jar to let the burp come out....I guess it doesn't take much to amuse me....hehehe

It's weird, but now that I think about it, I watch more animated shows than live-action stuff...

When I used to have cable, I watched Adult Swim and Toonami. Whatever series they were airing then. I watched most of the episodes although I'd seen most of those series in the original Japanese with subtitles years before. The shows I used to keep up with were Cowboy BeBop, Mobile Suit Gundam 0083, Lupin The 3rd, and Outlaw Star. There's also the staple favourites like Family Guy, Home Movies, Sealab 2021, Futurama, and others. It's mostly Cartoon Network fare, but from time to time I used to watch Nickelodeon and Disney shows too :) :p

I like the Simpsons, King of the Hill and South Park.
I really miss the great cartoons that were on when I was a kid- nothing on Nick and Toon Network really appeal to me at all.

For a while Toon Network was showing Smurfs once a day and now it seems they aren't anymore- which makes me very sad because that is my all time favorite.

Well, I think the only cartoon I watch today is Transformers: Armada (and occasionally, the episodes of Transformers: Generation 2 I have on VHS as well as my Rhino-release VHS copy of Transformers: The Movie).

Oh! Transformers: Energon will debut soon (next month or January 2004?) on Cartoon Network.

Yeah, you read that right, Dragon Tales. WHAT! it's charming! If we all saw it in our childhoods, we'd ALL talk it up to the YinYang to this very day!!! (would have been cool if we did. :))

I don't really watch many "new" cartoons, the ones I like are all 80's. But there are a few exceptions:

Spongebob Squarepants
The Simpsons
"NEW" Astroboy

I watch cartoons with my 3-year-old. I don't enjoy them all, by any means, but I do like:

Dora the Explorer (or at least I did until I felt like I'd seen every episode five times over)
Little Bill
Koala Brothers

I think the only cartoons I watch are Transformers: Armada and Transformers: Energon. But, since Cartoon Network (http://www.cartoonnetwork.com) rescheduled those 'toons for weekday mornings (5 am, Central Time), I don't get to watch 'em anymore.

But I do have most episodes of the short-lived Transformers: Generation 2 series (1993-1995) on VHS cassettes (I recorded the episodes myself!).

I also have a couple of VHS casssettes with one or two episodes of the original Transformers series (1984-1987)--and two Rhino-release VHS copies of Transformers: The Movie (1986).

Cartoons pretty much suck today, thats why you see some of the older ones making comebacks. Unfortunately, they don't have the catch they did back then.

To get back on topic, the only cartoons I like today are old episodes of the good stuff.

OMG!! I can't believe how many SpongeBob fans there are here. That's great!! I don't like Nickelodeon these days but I do like that show. I've got a really nice board you guys should come out to if you want to chat about the show. It's called the SpongeBob Square Board

I used to watch TV all the time as a kid, but now I don't much. I like old Simpsons up to like season 10. Not too much into the newer ones. And since I don't have cable anymore I guess that's it for cartoons on now.

Earlier today I sat with my daughter and enjoyed about 3 episodes of Hong Kong Phooey. She's only 4 but I'm already subjecting her to my favorite shows :)
