Vote for your favorite Dead or Alive song:

I had to vote for a lesser-known DOA song, "Special Star", from their "Mad, Bad and Dangerous to Know" album. It's a great, happy 80s dance tune, and DOA had more than their fair share of great 80s dance songs! :dance:

this was such a long list of great songs. I love all of them, but I picked "My heart goes Bang". I wished I could have picked all of them.

My Heart Goes Bang It was a tough decision.

I really like Dead Or Alive and the choice was hard, but I went with "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)" because that song held a lot of great 80's memories with my cousins! :thumb:

I only really know 3 of their songs, and only 2 were on the list so I went with "You spin me round (like a record)" still aclassic even if it is overplayed :)

It was a really tough choice between "You Spin Me Round" and "Brand New Lover"...but I decided to go with the former just because it was their first hit and it's so awesome!:D

I voted for "You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)".

Dead or Alive wasn't exactly a phenomon in New Zealand, but this was a great song. (They only had 2 or three hits here)

I personally didn't like the group itself, it was too bizarre for my liking. (Or was Dead or Alive a solo performer??)

DOA were actually a group, although the other members were overshadowed by the overwhelming personality and style of frontman Pete Burns. The rest of the band consisted of Pete's doppleganger, Steve Coy (drums), Mike Percy (bass) and Tim Lever (guitar). :)

I went with Spin me........because I have fond memories from college with that song!!!!;)

No surprises here as "You Spin Me" takes off with the popularity poll!!!:D

You Spin Me Round has defintely run off with this poll, natch. I'm actually surprised and happy to see two votes for "My Heart Goes Bang!", which is a perfect 80s dance-pop dittie!!! :)

Simply because it has a driving beat and lyrics that tell me of life on the dangerous side of the street of love.

Also, I voted for "In Too Deep" because it provided me with the inspiration for some of the title of the movie I'm at work. I hate to be a promo hog, but the big movie I'm at work on has been christened:

I went w/ "In too deep". My friends and I used to have little hand motions to the song:
"I can take a plane and I could fly away, I could steal a car and I could drive away"
"You spin me round" was the difinitive DOA song, but it definitely got overplayed in my area.

And just how did those hand motions go, 80z Girl? :)

is prob my favorite Dead Or Alive song. My friend, Cyndi, used to dance to it when we were hanging out at her house. She danced like Prince did. It was the coolest, how she had the little hand movements for the 'bang bang' parts of the song. lol

My favourite is not in the list but as it wasn't a hit it's understandable.
The song is Misty circles and it's from before Stock Aitken & Waterman began producing them, I'm not keen on the releases that came after. :no:

I always had a liking for 'What I want' which was a flop before they started to have hits (IE Wayne Hussy, later of goth 'n' dry ice merchants The Mission was still a member!)

not the best selection, i have to say. no selections from either sophisticated boom-boom or nude, my two favorite dead or alive albums! so i went with Lover Come Back To Me, although i think i would prefer Come To Me Baby or I Would Do Anything. not to mention Unhappy Birthday. but LCBTM rocks...

Their dance mixes were always way better than the album versions, the extended version of Something In My House get the vote :thumb: , but the album version stunk! :no:

I voted for "big daddy of the rhythm", but my fav is "Dj Hit that Button".
