What was your favourite Talking Heads song?

I always liked "Road to nowhere"

My fave Talking Heads song is probably "Once in a lifetime", I wasn't big on them, but I do like that song.

I used to hate the Talking Heads originally and thought they were weird until they came out with their "Little Creatures" album.

Then I went and saw "Stop Making Sence" at the movies (It was played at a small theatre for months and months every night) and I was hooked after that! Now they are one of my favourite bands of all times! :D

There's just something about the lyric "You may ask yourself...how did I get here?

That's philosophy!:)

Burning Down The House

It was a toss up between "Once in a Lifetime" and "Burning down the house". I went for "Once in a lifetime" but really like both equally. Looks like they are tied 6 to 6 as of this post.

I went with 'Burning down the house' I used to play that all the time as a kid...still have the 45 :D 'Once in a Lifetime' is a very close second though. Same as it ever was....:lol::p

I just cannot believe you haven't put "Slippery people" in the list!. That's my favorite, of course.

For me it was 'Once In A Lifetime', with 'Road To Nowhere' in 2nd place.

I voted for Road To Nowhere. I normally can't stand Talking Heads though, but Road To Nowhere was ok.

The earlier stuff of TH is okay, but they have lost a lot of attraction for me since "Road To Nowhere".

I agree with app4dstn, it's a toss between Girlfriend is Better and Slippery People, but the ultimate song that I like from them is Stay Up Late.

One of my favourites of the Little Creatures album. They had some fantastic songs that never hit the charts and that was one of them.

yes, and the modern version of Stop Making Sense now includes this. with the additional tracks, it's even moreso of a must-have... but this is one of the few bands that i love both the live AND studio versions.

i can't stand little creatures... or anything after. something changed, some line got crossed at this point and i couldn't follow. the proverbial 5 album rule.

App4dstn, you didn't like "Little Creatures"? I even loved "True Stories". It wasn't their usual sort of stuff, but has some gems on it.

wild wild life.....all tho I enjoy burning down the house, and once in a lifetime I would say wild wild life is most assuredly my favorite. This song has never ghotten enough air time in my opinion. :violin:
