View Full Version : Who had the best cartoons? Trixter 3-06-02, 07:57 AM Hey Y'all, Who do you think were the leaders of Saturday morning enjoyment? :) 80sTrivia 3-06-02, 12:03 PM My vote goes to Warner Bros and Loony Tunes. I spent countless hours as a child, laughing hysterically over the antics of Bugs Bunny, Sylvester and Tweety, the Road Runner and Foghorn Leghorn!!! Mary 3-06-02, 12:34 PM I'm going to say Warner Brothers, but I have a huge love of Hanna-Barbera shows as well. Hanna-Barbera shows are so diverse and fun, even the goofy TV spinoffs like Gilligan's Planet. 'Course, Wildfire was a Hanna-Barbera production, so I'm a tad bit biased. Hehe. fiya kraka 3-06-02, 07:02 PM Warner Bros./Looney Tunes:thumb: Bugs Bunny, Bugs Bunny Rah Rah Rah Bricka Braka FIYA KRAKA Sis Boom Ba:D Bugs Bunny Iluvthe80s 3-06-02, 07:34 PM I voted for Warner Brothers. Most of the cartoons I watched were Warner Brothers cartoons. space-invader 3-07-02, 03:17 AM before i vote...can someone remind us which cartoons were made by Terrytoons / Filmation and Sid & Marty Krofft ??? Trixter 3-12-02, 02:08 PM I voted for Hanna-Barbera, they made up most of my Saturday morning viewing! Scooby, Josie, Speedy were my Saturday mornin' friends! :thumb: Jughead Jones 3-17-02, 11:14 PM Very difficult choice... ...but I went with WB! Polar Bear Jeff 3-19-02, 06:12 PM I like WB and Hanna-Barbera equally. TopCat 3-20-02, 05:43 AM Warner Brothers! http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/cartoons/looneytunes/looneytunes25.gif CinderGirl 3-20-02, 01:29 PM Scooby Doo was and still is my very favorite cartoon. Josie was another favorite! Sheibub 4-13-02, 09:19 PM I always loved Hanna Barbera the most. I miss those cartoons from my childhood. :( I still like Warner Bros. though! :D Atomic Bulldawg 4-22-02, 06:16 PM Warner Brothers and Hanna-Barbera top the list for me. As much as I loved H-B cartoons, Looney Tunes takes it in the very end. There were several Filmation cartoons (esp. Tarzan & Fat Albert) that I enjoyed too. iloveknightrider 6-03-02, 10:55 AM Had to vote for Warner Brothers. Speedy Gonzales is the best! "Arriba, Arriba, Andale, Andale!" gfschn01 6-29-02, 10:08 AM Sid and Marty Croft did the Land of the Lost. It wasn't a cartoon, but an adventure/dinosaur thing. They did some other stuff too, which was before my time. DC Rebel 7-07-02, 07:38 PM My vote would have to go with Warner Brothers. surfnut 7-07-02, 08:18 PM Come on guys, Sid and Marty ruled! gfs pegged some of it, Sigmund and the sea monster, Land of the lost and Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. Heres a little of my trivia knowledge. Electra Woman was played by Diedra Hall, Days of our lives, Marlaina. Any of you remember the other show with these. A bunch of kids in a dunebuggy???? Brand1974 7-07-02, 08:40 PM My vote goes to Warner Brothers amk27 7-10-02, 08:52 AM Who could argue with The Flintstones, Jetsons, and Scooby Doo? Hanna Barbera is my 1st choice followed by Warner Bros. As far as Sid and Marty Croft they were the best at stuff like Sigmund and the Sea Monster, Far out Space Coasters and HR Puff-n- Stuff. :D sketcher 7-10-02, 09:22 AM It's hard to choose but the bestest for me would be Looney Tunes. However, Hanna-Barbera had such a cool look and style raging from Tom and Jerry to the Flintstones (I listened to 'I Ain't Gonna Be Your Fool' on my discman this morning!) and I'm still praying for a Woody Woodpecker DVD to come out with all his 1940s and 1950s cartoons. But not to forget... ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE! Originally posted by space-invader before i vote...can someone remind us which cartoons were made by Terrytoons / Filmation and Sid & Marty Krofft ??? Terrytoons did Casper, Babey Heuey, Mighty Mouse (still praying for that one to come out on ANY form of video!), and Heckle & Jeckyll (I miss that!) dreamin80s 7-11-02, 10:42 AM It's hard because I watched WB cartoons too. But I picked Hanna-Barbera. I loved Jem! Roemello 8-20-04, 02:23 AM I'm so torn on this, I can't vote for one  Warner Bros., Hanna-Barbara and Filmation all ruled in different ways! But I'm bringing this back up anyway for those who can decide :p galaga-girl 8-20-04, 06:44 PM I went with Filmation, because they gave me, He-man and She-ra. I used to watch almost every single cartoon on Tv and sometimes now still do  If you guys were in Australia you would be able to get a great cable TV channel we have here called "Boomerang" it has stacks of Hanna Barbera cartoons on it, http://CartoonNetwork.com/boomerang/index.html some include: Jetsons Yogi Bear Snagglepuss etc Hipechik70 8-20-04, 06:53 PM Warner Bros./Looney Tunes:thumb: Bugs Bunny, Bugs Bunny Rah Rah Rah Bricka Braka FIYA KRAKA Sis Boom Ba:D Bugs Bunny I love that one..w/the horse. theres so many..what i can remember number 1 all time favoite was BANANA SPLITS grape ape, (what was the one where all the characaters did the races?) bugs and slyvester Sid & Marty Krofft -all the shows super friends fat albert underdog archie Hong Kong Fooey josie and the pussycats COOL BREEZE 8-20-04, 08:20 PM Gee ... My favorite cartoon, Transformers, was produced by Sunbow. ObiDave 8-20-04, 11:06 PM Any of you remember the other show with these. A bunch of kids in a dunebuggy???? Are you referring to Speed Buggy? That was Hanna Barbera wasn't it? Along w/ JabberJaw. Remember the Buggaloos?? My faves as a young tike were Heckle & Jeckle and Mighty Mouse. Nikki_91 8-21-04, 08:41 PM I had to go with Hanna..they were good..Flintstones..Jetsons..Scooby..Josie..I really wish the cartoon network would show some of these shows instead of the crap they show now..they could call it The Classic Cartoon Network or something. It's so hard to find a good cartoon to watch these days...yikes..did I just say that out loud?? TeachX3 8-21-04, 08:44 PM Hanna-Barbera without a doubt! :) BUT I do have to say, my favorite non-cartoon on Saturday morning was Land of the Lost! whistledog 9-14-04, 11:06 AM had to go with Hanna-Barbara Flintstones and Scooby Doo made my Saturday Mornings wonderful times :thumb: Red 9-14-04, 12:33 PM This was a tough choice. I basically did eeny-meeny-miney-moe to decide! I loved all these cartoons. I didn't care, and still don't, who made them. Theywere great then and they're still great today My kids watch just as many of these cartoons, if not more, than the newer cartoons. Ayla 9-14-04, 01:00 PM Hanna-Barbera stlkev70 9-15-04, 12:07 PM Have to go with Warner Bros. They come up some original stuff! Very funny stuff! Also Bugs Bunny is my hero and why not he is the first heterosexual cross dressing character ever on TV! Gotta love it! merilee 10-22-04, 05:25 PM Without a shade of doubt, Hanna-Barbera!! Sorry, Bugs, i love you with all my heart, but nothing compares to Hanna-Barbara, they are the Kings! I love almost every single show they made, love all the Scooby series (yes, even Scrappy) and probably can even name a few Hanna Barbara shows that aren't widely known! So, as much as I loved Bugs, Hanna Barbara will always rule! Merilee :rockband: :rose: Hemicidal 10-22-04, 05:40 PM Who remembers 'Krazy Kat' or 'Milton The Monster'...Jeez I loved the 60's, but I loved the 70's more, and I'm still in the friggin 80's...Laughs merilee 10-22-04, 05:48 PM Hey, me too!! I'm only 26, but I LOVE all kinds of 70's and 80's shows and cartoons. PLEASE tell me you remember Speed Buggy and Butch Cassidy!! Merilee (please tell me you remember HER!!) :rockband: :rose: HouTexGurl 10-22-04, 05:53 PM I liked the HB cartoons but Warner gets my vote for the best cartoons!! :thumb: AngelicR 10-22-04, 08:41 PM I can't even remember what cartoons go with what companies, except the Warner Brothers. Strange that... So anyway, I went with Warner Brothers, since I know I liked a lot of their cartoons. Does anyone know who made Muppet Babies, The Chipmunks (wasn't that disney?), Smurfs, Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, Care Bears....Must of the cartoons I liked weren't on tv, they were movies. :D Tanya1976 11-10-04, 01:32 PM I voted for Hann-Barbara, followed closely by Warner Bros. Pagan 11-10-04, 01:35 PM Until someone makes a funnier cartoon character than Bugs Bunny, it's Warner Brothers all the way.... KimJoy69 12-22-05, 07:50 PM I'm SAYIN!
