View Full Version : You had your honey-Moon?
Ted Nugent 2-27-02, 04:26 PM I can't say anything on this. LOL But I was just curious about everyone else. :D
My dream honey-Moon would be to rent a cabin deep in the heart of Russia, during the dead of winter. Staying in the cousy cabin for a few weeks amidst the mountains. Nothing but, nature, no people. Going out on the porch everynight, watching the Moon. Cuddling by the fireplace. Totally care free, alone with eachother, in the most beautiful place on earth. *sighs* I can't wait one day....:)
The crazy thing about my honeymoon, was I was 8 mos. pregnant and the best man spent the night at our house. How's that for a honeymoon? (we are not married anymore, so the next time around will definetly beat that.)
We ended up eloping about seven weeks before our scheduled wedding, so we had to wait those seven weeks until our scheduled time off from work to go on our honeymoon. We drove down the East coast, through the Outer Banks in NC and ended up as far south as Charleston, SC.
Dancingdoll1986 3-03-02, 11:15 PM I'd love to get married at the Venitian Hotel out in Vegas, and then spend a week out there. I saw you can have the ceremony on a gondola, cruising around the hotel. I'd love that!!:)
I didn't have one. Maybe one day when the kid is grown and the bills are paid....Oh yeah!! They call that death, never mind.....
Iluvthe80s 3-03-02, 11:42 PM Well when I was married, my husband at the time was on leave (he was in the Navy stationed in Connecticut) and he came back to Austin around New Year's 1991. We got married and spent the weekend at the local Hilton Hotel. That is about as close to a honeymoon as I ever got. He had to leave two days after we were married to go back to Connecticut. Two months later, I moved up there to be with him. We were divorced in 1995.
We didn't go on our honeymoon until our first anniversary. I'd just gotten a new job when we were married, and I didn't have any vacation time. We only got to take 4 days off work for the wedding, and we were back in the office on Monday morning. :(
So, for a year, we saved up our pennies and went to San Francisco. It was the best vacation ever. We stayed in a quirky little hotel in Union Square, where we were the only American couple there. (the rest were all French & German tourists) We rented a car, so we drove up to Napa & Sonoma one day, down to Santa Cruz another day, and to Monterey/Carmel too. Of course, it rained the day we were in Carmel, but we bummed around in the shops & ate some fantastic meals. We also visited some of our friends who were doing research at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View. We have some really funny pictures... including the obligatory one by the Rice-A-Roni sign on the cable car. Hehe.
I'd love to go again, and see some of the wineries we missed. I can totally picture myself buying a farm on the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) between Santa Cruz and SF, and staying put. Would that I had a couple million dollars to put this plan into action... LOL! Luckily the liquor store in my neighborhood carries wine from our favorite winery... so we can sort-of kind-of relive our honeymoon once in a while ;) Not going into any more detail there, heh heh.
I just got married in November, and we spent our Honeymoon on the "Voyager of the Seas"! It was excellent!
This is the biggest cruise ship afloat. It has an iceskating rink, rollerblade track, basketball court, rock climbing wall, putt-putt course. Even has a "Johnny Rockets." We had the best time!
And the islands it went to were great too! We went to Jamaica, Cozumel and Grand Cayman, plus their little out island called Labadee.
Can't wait to go back! :D
We didn't have a honeymoon. We were married on January 26 it was a Saturday. We spent the night at a nice motel :naughty: well we really didn't sleep:naughty: Then Saturday afternoon I left to go to Michigan while he stayed in Kentucky to finish his year in school.
We always promised that we would have a honeymoon, but we never found the time and never had the money.
If I ever get married again.. I would love to have my honeymoon at Niagra Falls!!!
I think that would be romantic.
True Rebel 3-05-02, 07:07 PM Bloody hell. Don't get me started on -this- topic. We haven't had one yet. (Unless you count a few bunk ups on a tour bus.) When this is all over tho, back to Bali where we got married. An we ain't leavin for a months at least. ;)
BrandyBlue 3-05-02, 07:57 PM This is the second time I have been married. This marriage I have been married for more than ten years and I have yet to have a honeymoon. DO NOT MARRY MILITARY MEN! They get called away! (No offense intended toward our men and women fighting for this country. Just wait until you are sure they are done with their military obligation if you are looking for a stable life!) I would still marry this guy all over again, I would just hope that he would have chosen school over the life that we had in the military.
Cybermoukette 3-17-02, 05:19 PM  My husband and I went to Bali, Indonesia in a huge hotel. There were 3 swimming-pools, 5 restaurants, a huge park.
We first wanted to go to the Maldive islands but weren't sure to get enough money to go there.
:) As we already had all the necessary in our appartment, we had asked the people we had invited to our wedding to give us money for our honey moon.
 The problem is that we could not guess how much money we would have and we had to make a reservation if we wanted to go to the Maldives.
So we decided to go to Bali because it did not ask for a reservation in a great advance.
We had already done the reservation for Bali when we got married and ironically, we in fact could have been to the Maldives because we managed to get even more money than what it costed... Too bad.
 But we did have a great great time all the same in Bali !!!
jeansfcc 3-19-02, 08:53 PM My hubbie and I never had a Honey-moon!
Never had one. Not married, don't plan to be and don't want to be. End of story.
this charming man 3-20-02, 06:07 PM We spent two weeks in Rome and whilst we were there, Simple Minds played Live, so we put the majority of our spending money to buy tickets, we survived two days on a diet of cheese puffs.
LOSTNTHE80S 3-20-02, 06:45 PM This is the third time I have tried to reply to this topic (or is it the fourth? ) Just hope it goes through this time.
We had a fantastic reception and it ran late so we stayed at a local place on our wedding night. That romantic husband of mine even carried me over the threshhold.....didn't come up for air until the next afternoon either...heehee.
A couple of days later, we drove to Branson, Missouri. Beautiful land....but those hills! Caught a few shows. Started to rain on our way back.....got back home just in time too...that rain was the start of the great Midwest flood of 1993!
Here we are, almost 9 years later......we are still on our honeymoon and plan to be for only the next 60 years or so. :)
I love you honey
