Which Cyndi Lauper song was your favorite?

My favorite Cyndi Lauper song of all time is "I Drove All Night". It's hard to go wrong with a great Roy Orbison tune, and Cyndi's version is amazing and soulful. I think it should have been a bigger hit for her when the song was released in '88... :)

"All Through The Night" would have to be my favorite.

Mine is 'Time after Time'.

True colors. I put it on a friendship tape I gave to my friend years ago :)

I went with "Time After Time"

I love I drove all night............I just loved the music of it.

"Time after Time," which is also my favorite video of all time. Even when I was nine, that video made me cry.

I like pretty much everything on the list though. :)

What about "Goonies R Good Enough?" LOL

When I grow up, I wanna be like Cyndi. "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" kicks Spice Girls' "Wannabe" any day.

I just love the song "Time After Time" even though it is a deviation from her usual musical style.

I voted for "Time after Time", that's one of my favorite songs by her! I also loved "I drove all night" and "True Colors"..those songs were cool. I was watching a tribute to John Lennon on TNT, I guess it was in September, and she did a really good version of "Strawberry Fields" in Central Park. It was really great.

Michael, this poll is just too hard to answer!. I love all the songs... I've voted for "I drove all night", but I could have chosen "time after time" or "girls just want to have fun" or...

I picked I DROVE ALL NIGHT. I believe Cyndi Lauper is probably THE single most underrated female vocalist of the 80s. If there was never an MTV and you just went on songs alone, she would have garnered so much more respect. Twelve Deadly Cyns is probably my favortie "best of" cds of all time.

Well,since there wasn't an Other choice. I went with "Time After Time" But my favorite song of her's is "There's A Hole in My Heart That Goes Alll the Way to China" from the "Vibes" soundtrack!
If you havent seen this movie and your a Cyndi fan your missing a classic! It has Cyndi and Jeff Goldblum as psychics hired by Peter Faulk(Columbo) to go to South America to find a kidnapped boy. But there is no boy he's really trying to find a mysterious treasure. It's hilarious!
One of my other Cyndi favorites is "I'm Gonna Be Strong" from her album under the name Blue Angel. She redid it for her 12 Deadly Cyns CD. I t really shows off her singing talent! The Blue Angel(pre solo) LP is fantastic! Some of the songs are done in a
50's style! Say,does anyone know what movie this is?
I saw it years ago.It starred Cyndi and about all I can remember about it was there was gambling ,a race track,bad guys, and a deserted hotel I think in the Everglades that had a spaceship theme. Anyway, Cyndi set down at a piano and sang a couple of songs I haven't heard her sing since! Can anybody help?

I must admit that I keep my CD of Cyndi's greatest hits, "12 Deadly Cyns", in my car and I pop it in at least once or twice a week. It's one of my favorites, too, Jasper...

So many great songs, only one vote. Sigh. I voted for Time After Time. It's one of those songs that has some very special memories attatched to it for me. All Through the Night and True Colors are right behind though.

OK, that poll was the toughest one to vote in yet! I ultimately chose "She Bop" It just had a fun beat. Of course, when it came out in '84, I was miss Naieve extrordinaire! I don't think I figured out what the song was actually about until 5 years later.

Looks like "Time After Time" has run away with the favorite Cyndi tune poll. Not too surprising, really. It's probably the Cyndi song you hear most often on the radio, after "Girls Just Wanna..." :)

Hmmmm. . . This is a close one, because I really like "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," "Time After Time" and "True Colors."

Time After Time.. the opening tune is beautiful..and it always gives me chills.. definitely her best song :D

...but there was something about "Time After Time" that stood out!

I have to go with True Colors. I first heard it heading north for a mountaineering trip in the White Mountains in New Hampshire, and the foliage was in full bloom. It was very appropriate, so it's stuck in my mind ever since. (It also helps that, like "Time After Time," the musical style is so totally different from anything else Cyndi did.)

Change of Heart

Though your poll is missing the all important "Goonies R Good Enough" and Cyndi's great remake of "What's Going On".

Time after time is a really good ballad, so that got my vote.

Time After Time - absolutely. the chord progression, the melody and Cyndi's unique voice. It is in fact my all time favorite 80's sad love song. Whenever it comes on the radio, I have to stop whatever I'm doing and take it in.

Her song True Colours is Beautiful like a rainbow :D

I though Cyndi looked terrible in her early career with that terrible patchy hair style she had. But when she starred in "Vibes" with Jeff Goldblum she was really quite beautiful.

I honestly can't pick. I love all of her songs. I had She's So Unusual when I was in 4th grade and would dance on the sidewalk with my little boom box listening to it. Time After Time made me cry when I saw the video, still does! I wanted to be Cyndi, she's still one of my idols! I love All Through the Night, When You Were Mine, Money..., Girls..., oh hell, I love just about all of them!!!

Mine would have to be "Change of Heart"... It's got a great upbeat tempo, and I love the sound of the drum machines.

She Bop is my personal favorite. But Change of Heart, Time After Time, and I Drove All Night are all great songs.

She Bop is her finest fast song while All Through the Night is her finest slow song.
