Just about everybody I know has been in into a bar and possibly had drinks before they turned 21. Sometimes you look older than you are, or the bartender is too busy to card everyone in the group, so someone else orders a beer and you get it!

How old were you? Did you drink or were you just happy that you didn't get carded?

The first time I was 19 and went with a friend to play pool, but business was slow and a bartender chick came over and carded me within 5 minutes. I had to leave.

Went to a bar once I turned 20, but didn't drink there. I was already buzzing anyway. I stayed there a good half hour before deciding the leave.

Now that I'm well past 21, its not fun anymore. My g/f works with a couple who is 16 and 18, and to them getting brewshky and sneaking beer is too cool.

For her and me, it's called BEEN THERE, DONE THAT. Not exciting anymore.

I was 18 at the time and never got asked for ID anytime. I used to go out with a bunch of older guys I was in a boarding place with and we used to have a ball. I was trying out all sorts of different types of drinks.

One of them was a Canadian guy who was doing a working trip around the world who claimed to be a bit of a fire bug. Apparently he lit fire to a bed in a hotel because of bad service! One of the times we all went out, we stopped in at McDonald's for some food afterwards and we were all a little enebriated. His stories of lighting fires inspired me. So I took one of the guys lighters and lit a little fire in the ash tray and we left.

No danger of any large fire spreading, but we had a McDonald's employee come running out after us! He wasn't very happy to say the least! (OK, it was a stupid thing to do, but it was funny at the time)

OK confession is good for the soul. That's mine today!

I was 20 and it was after my sister's wedding & reception. I was "entertaining" my new brother-in-law's two brothers (25 & 29). The first bar we tried to go into wouldn't let me in without ID. We went into the next one talking and laughing and totally ignoring the bouncer, and were able to walk right in.

I feel like a total juvenille deliquent on this thread...but I'm older than most of you and blessed to live in NY...and when I was young, NY had no photo ID's and the drinking age was 18. (sheez, I'm OLD!) So all I had to do is find a person not going out that night to lend me their license who had a similar height and eye color and voila! I'm in...

16...and my parent knew, btw - and I grow-ed up just fine! :)

I didn't actually have to do any sneaking to get into a bar. When I was fourteen, I was living in Mexico City as an exchange student. As there is no drinking age in Mexico, I would go with my friends from the international school I was attending to the bars and discos. One weekend, I went with my host family and friends to the beach resort of Acapulco. A large group of us teens hit the town's bars and got hammered on Screwdrivers and Rum and cokes. Ah, the sweet liberty!!!

My first time sneaking into a bar happened when I was 18. I snuck into a bar called 'Abracadabra' with a couple of friends. We were able to get drinks without being carded. We got to dance downstairs without having an 'underage' band around our wrists. It was great! I guess, for me, my early greying helped fool the staff. :)

I never tried to get into clubs I couldn't get into because I was underage. I went to clubs when I was under 18 and 21 but they would be all ages shows if a live band was playing.

I honestly never snuck into a bar when I was underage.... I DID go to the drive up windows at the liquor stores to buy beer and cheap wine.... Funny thing though, the minute I turned 21 and went to the drive throughs,,,,the same guys who served me before would start carding me!

Boy does this bring back memories!
I think I was 16 the first time we snuck into a bar! We went to "Studio 19" which was a dance club. No one carded us, we just walked up, paid, and went in.
Then we started hanging out at a club called "Jack's Place". We would get there early, like 7PM for Happy Hour. And at about 8PM they would put a bouncer at the door. Well, my friends and I would "leave" (actually pretend to leave) and the bouncer would stop us and ask if we were coming back. We'd say yes, and then he would stamp our hand! (After 8PM there was a charge to get in!)
So, now we had our "Hand Stamp", which was like GOLD! We could get back into that club, or we could pretty much get into any other club with our "Hand stamp"! I guess they figured someone somewhere checked our ID or we wouldn't have that hand stamp! LOL!!! :D

Oh man...
When I was a teen the drinking age was 18. The first time I drank at a bar I was 14! It was a bar on the lake and they were having snowmobile races there that Saturday! Funny thing...the girl I was with was 13! We were served all day too!
(ps. she pucked...I didn't ;) )

The day I graduated from high school and a couple of months shy of eighteen.

There was a place called "The Cowboy" that everyone who was anyone went to. My then-boyfriend was good friends with one of the bouncers and as a graduation present got me in.

I had a decent time, but it really wasn't all I thought it was going to be.

Well, I always looked very young for my age so I always got carded. A pain in the ass then but now it's pretty cool!
I got lucky though when I was younger because the drinking age was 18 in Florida when I was 18 Then they raised it to 19 "Sorry I already turned 19!" Finally they raised it to 21 "Nope too late! I'm 21" A friend of mine was 3 years younger than me but he was 6' 4" 265 at age 15 .He never got carded unless he was with me so we'd walk in seperately to a bar he'd go in first and order a drink.
I'd stroll in order a drink,they'd card me,okay.
Then I'd go "Hey, How you doing?" pretending to run into each other!

New Years eve of '87. I was 16. We didn't exactly sneak in. My best friend had another older friend that was pre-selling tickets to a party at this small bar. We handed the guy the tickets on the way in and he didn't ask for ID. We bought our own alcohol and they never asked us for ID the whole evening since we managed to get through the door. :)

I was 17 when I first tried, but thankfully I wasn't carded. I was smart enough, though to not even TRY and buy a beer because I knew they'd card me in a heartbeat, so one of our friends went to get us a few.

Had fun, though! :)

I was about 18 and my friends were 21. They would get their hand stamped, meet me back out at the car and then wet my hand and transfer their stamp onto my hand. It was always very messy but the bar never questioned it. I never was a drinker it was just fun to go in and hang out with my friends.

The first time that I snuck into a bar was when I was 18. I was working at this one factory and some of the guys decided to go to this one bar on our lunch hour. It was my last day there, so I decided to join them. It was also a strip bar on top of it, I did not know that part until I walked in the front door. I ended up dating one of the girls there for about a year.

Hah! That trick never failed me! I can't believe more people didn't try it. Because I am so tall, I was able to get into bars at 17 without a question - never the ones with someone actually carding out front - just the run down seedy ones where you can just walk right in and have a drink.

The first place I got into was a redneck club in So. Illinois called "Fred's Dance Barn." It was a BYOB place, so friends of mine just rented a loft and brought kegs in. That was the first (and last) time I have ever drunk beer. Of course, if it wasn't Schaeffer Light, I might not have had such a bad experience. Now I'm strictly a hard liqour person and some occasional wine.

That was also the first and last time I ever rode an electric bull! Yeeeeowwwch!

We did that too! But, a lot of bars around here started using stamps that had the name of the bar, or a word, or something that if you did do the "transfer" it did not look anything like the original hand stamp!
This of course was before the treasured "plastic wrist bands"!

I don't think I ever did any sneaking into bars when I was underage. My friends and I would go to someones house to do the drinking but it wasn't a very important thing for us. We were crazy enough without the drinking.

I was 16 and the club was actually out of town. I went to that same club after that because they knew me. Never had a problem with getting into to clubs afterwards and actually the first time I did not get caught by the club or officials , but my mom when I came home at 7 o'clock in the morning.

I would have been 16, but it was not night clubbing, I played on a basball team where everyone else was 19-20 so if they went to bar for lunch i'd tag along and never be asked. I also frequesnted the Eastern Passage Beer Gardens every summer during the carnival , but I probably never stepped in a dance bar or night club until I was 19, the legal drinking age

Never had to sneak into any pubs - at 16, me and me muckers just had our own "beer bashes" at our places. Those of us what looked old enough would buy an I was in on that a few times. Never really hit a pub til I was 20, an that was one of the worst moves of my life. Ended up hangin round with the absolutely wrong crowd. But that's another story. http://www.salacious.de/Smiliez/ausgefallene/ausgeskullblink.gif
