Silveradocruiser, Sweden looks very good, They made Team Canada look like fools, You dominated the centre ice, your two line passes connected, and your goaltender can actually stop the tough shot, We were the second best team on the ice. I know these first three games only decides placement for the metal rounds, but #$%# Sweden looked soooo much better Canada last night . Congrats on the win your country deserved it

I gotta admit...they played way better than anyone had expected! The team had only practised together (using these formations) TWO times before last night!:p They just fit PERFECTLY together! :cool:

On the other hand, Canada played worse than expected, but I guess they just need some time to adjust to the bigger rink and the two-line-passing! Wich I'm pretty sure they will...:eek:
The Canadians have an impressive ability to "read" the opponents game and adjust to it, by changing their own strategies, pretty fast! I'm sure Lemieux & Co will be there for the finals!!:p

We've all been talking about that all weekend. It could have been much worse for Canada.

We all love Mats here in Toronto obviously, but after seeing him take two penalties at the end of the Czech game yesterday, he's on his way to God status. lol

I just cannot get over how good the hockey has been. The Russians, Czechs, Swedes and Americans all look great. Canada still has time to join them but they must get their butts in gear quickly.

The USA men are undefeated going into the medal round! We are going all the way to the gold, noone can stop us! Germany will be first to feel the pain, then the rest...:p

Well after talking smack prior to the olympics, I've now been humbled, even though anyone who saw Canada tie the Czechs would have seen Canada really did outplay them. I think from seeing the last game Canada has finally come together, and will take home the gold...If not beware of the Swede's, they are flying

Women hockey shouldn't even be in the olympics, only two countries are competive, in the prelims Canada/USA combined for 52 goals for and one against. In head to head competition, the US has won the last 8 games against Canada, However Canada has won the last (all)7 world championships....... Um tough call but I'll go with Canada to squeak by in what will be a very good game. Canada and the US in womans hockey is always a great game. For anyone not watching womens hockey, you should definately catch the gold metal game thursday

I couldn't believe it. I was only joking about Belarus. Now I look like a prognosticator extraordinaire. lol

Shame though. Swedes are a better team than that and probably would have given any of the bigger teams a run for their money. Got caught taking a bit easy on a perceived lesser oponent.

Still, they all count. Looks good for Canada if they can beat the Finns tonight. They should play Belarus in the semis. :D

Congrats to the Canadian women's hockey team. Excellent goaltending, awesome penalty killing, smothering defense, they thoroughly deserve the gold medal. Also, congrats to the Canadian Curling teams on 2 bronzes.

Did you hear that the Russians are threatening to pull out of the Olympics? Before our historic hockey "rematch"!
Would that mean the US team doesn't have to play a semifinal match at all? Fine, let em go. A Russian Olympic official made the statement that the Winter Games would be "dead" without the Russsians. Preposterous! Maybe 20 years ago...:rolleyes:

Women's final was brilliant. Never seen so many people getting into women's hockey before. The whole bar was really excited. It was really something to see. We weren't really expecting gold seeing as how the Americans had dominated the last 10 or so meetings. It was great to see Gerry going out with a gold.

Can't wait for this afternoon's game. :)

Was the Ref the same woman who was the French Judge in the pairs figure skating contest... she ruined a great game, It's like she was out to get us. It was bad enough in 88 when the CIA planted steroid in Ben Johnston's urine so Carl Lewis would win the gold, but what was up with that ref?:D
