Another associated item is MUSIC OF THE JOY DIVISION by THE NAU ENSEMBLE,who are a European band of string players. I should point out that nowhere do you recognise any Joy Division tunes as this is Classical Crossover in line with the Electra Strings or Jocelyn Pook. But I suppose it could be said that of all the notes they play the Joy Division could have played most of them!!!

Not sure whether the Joy Division are known of in the States but New Order were descended from them and were founded after the death of Ian Curtis in 1980.Theres at least half a dozen CDs here and a Box Set

Joy Division were supposed to leave on May 19, 1980 for their forthcoming American tour. But Ian Curtis ended his life on May 18.
