During the last 4 years of the 80s this band were regulars on the television and made 3 albums plus a stack of collectables.Then they disappeared.A magazine here traced their movements back to the States where they have reportedly left music and gone into the gift shop business.
Though basically a band they were fronted by 2 girls who dressed like Can Can Dancers and would speak with pride about their father who had been a 4 Prep. (Bruce Belland) So to become a Voice Of The Beehive completist you would need the 4 Preps Greatest Hits. At one time the girls were planning on recording the song they made famous Big Man but nothing came of it unless its in the vaults.
Anyway the Voice Of The Beehive,as Genuine Petticoat Girls,were a commentary on just about the only thing the music business needs and has never happenned yet,not since the 50s anyway. And you think God I am totally sick of seeing all these conveyor belt girls,all with bare midriffs and loon pants or ripped jeans or whatever. The whole Spice Girls Virus,one after a boring nother Are there no girl bands who look FEMININE? There must be at least one in the States but not since the days of Virginia Astley and her Ravishing Beauties has there been anything to follow.
