I love the one hit wonders, reading some of these posts reminded me of a few songs that I just HAD to go and find! LOL

Anyone remember "Man 2 Man Meet Man Parrish"?

Not sure if these are OHW or not, you decide.

Cameo - Word Up
Divine - You think you're a man
Nails - 88 lines about 44 women
Yaz - Situation
Whodini - Freaks come out at night
Trans-X - Living on video
Paul Lekakis - Boom Boom Boom (lets go back to my room)

Indeed, I remember all of the songs that you listed, Shadow. In fact, I think I have most of them on vinyl 45 somewhere...

I never really thought of Yaz as a one hit wonder. I guess because "Situation" isn't the only song I've heard several times on the radio. "Only You" has been played repeatedly and I see the video played on VH1 Classics now and then. Maybe I'm biased, I really like Yaz!

I don't consider Yaz a OHW, either, Trixter. I have several Yaz CD's, and I love "Only You" (was their video for this song the first computer animated video, I wonder?), "A Page In Your Diary" and "Don't Go". Plus, I love Alison Moyet's solo stuff as well. She has a fantastic voice!!!

Yes, Michael, Alison Moyet has a fantastic as well as haunting voice! I just love "Inivisible" from her album 'Alf' and the "Coventry Carol" from 'A Very Special Christmas'!! :thumb:

I neet to pull out my Alison Moyet cassette now! :)

I like Alison Moyet as well. I own "Raindancing" and "Hoodoo" along with the Yaz "Upstairs At Eric's" album. She has become one of my favorite female vocalists.

Whodini was not a one hit wonder either. Don't forget "Five minutes of funk", "One love", "Haunted house of rock", "I'm a ho" and countless others. BTW, that Man to Man song is on a disc called "Dance classics of the 80's". That is a great song!!!
