<img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">
~xistenza
I seem to remember some Adam and the Ants, David Bowie, Toyah Wilcox, Birthday Party. Not all at the same time of course. And a lot of things you've already mentioned like the Sisters of Mercy and Bauhaus.
Dancingdoll1986 7-31-01, 11:54 PM I had some weird stuff...
An original movie poster from Flashdance, a Duran Duran poster from their debut England version album, and 2 Cleveland Ballet posters.
Pretty tame. Though in the 70's I had Shawn Cassidy.
~G
Mostly bands...Rush, Anthrax, Iron Maiden etc.
I also had a few scantly clad women hanging on my walls too. <img src="redface.gif" border="0"> Why not I am a pervert ain't I? LOL <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">
I had lots of pictures of Rob Lowe, and some pictures from Metal Edge.( I can't recall them) <img src="smile.gif" border="0">
80sTrivia 8-01-01, 01:28 AM As I detailed in another forum, I had this enormous Madonna poster hanging on the wall directly in front of my bed. It was the poster of her wearing a leopard spotted swimsuit, with fishnet stockings, no less!!! <img src="eek.gif" border="0">
I also had an autographed picture of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. (My dad took me to meet her at a Carl Casper's Auto Show).
Let me see, also had tons of covers of Star Hits and Smash Hits mags on my wall, plus a poster of Dale Bozio from Cream magazine!
MDC: Official Stalker of the oh-so-cute DD86 <img src="wink.gif" border="0">
ImSoooSure 8-01-01, 05:04 AM Lets see, Vilji just sent me a picture of when I was about 14. I am standing next to a poster of John Taylor, Duran2, and a painted lady on a phone. I know I also had Depeche Mode, David Bowie and James Dean. I also used to cut out fashion magazine pictures and make collages on my wall.
morningmyst 8-01-01, 06:09 AM I had the normal Rob Lowe and other brat pack pics......Also, Iron Maiden, Rush, Bon Jovi, Journey....
Posters: James Dean, Mickey Rourke, a-ha, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran and The Cure
Pics: Andrew McCarthy, Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, Judd Nelson, Matt Dillon, River Phoenix and Emilio Estevez.
And my entire wardrobe (closet) was covered in stickers - my mum cursed me when I moved away from home and she had to clean it - I had ruined it! Oops... <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

morningmyst 8-01-01, 02:41 PM Yes, Nottie.......the Mystie likes Rush!
Dancingdoll1986 8-01-01, 03:58 PM Rush was awesome!!!
My ex-fiance LOVED Rush, so I got into them. I must have seen them in concert about 6 times. Each show got better and better.
(I do remember Geddy Lee singing "Take Off (to the great white north), with Bob and Doug Mackenzie. Hosers!!
~G
Careful. No picking on the hosers, eh! <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">
Xistenza, you sound just like my best friend from high school again! She had so many pictures on her walls, going in her room was almost creepy. <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> She had a Polaroid of the lead singer from Alien Sex Fiend, which a pen pal sent to her, and my boyfriend slobbered over it constantly. Weirdo... heh.
On my walls:
B-52s "Bullseye" poster over my bed
Cure "Head on the Door" poster... on the door, of course!
R.E.M. "Green" poster
R.E.M. "Fables of the Reconstruction" T-shirt
Kermit the Frog as Bruce Springsteen, Born in the USA - from Muppet Magazine. I hung onto it for sentimental reasons. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">
One or two horse posters left over from my equine mania.
Posters for all the theater productions I was in, or went to.
Myst and dancingdoll86 like Rush....that is to cool! <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">
Dancingdoll1986 8-02-01, 12:45 AM Gotta love Rush!!! His voice was unlike anyone elses, and he wasn't bad looking either. (Okay, the nose, but hey!)
~G
You know that is what turns most people away is his voice. His nose was a little big....LOL

That's exactly what I was thinking, Not Man! But I'm not surprised, as I have found myst to be a woman of intelligence & impeccable taste (not to mention being a hottie! <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">)
Anyway, I, too had Rush posters (a few, in fact) and a couple of 3 stooges posters (nyuk, nyuk), and various & sundry other pics & posters. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Nothing wrong with a big nose Doll! I have a bit of a honker myself! The funny thing is, when me & my friends used to see an ugly person, we called them a "Geddy"!
Here's a pop quiz for you...how did Geddy get the name "Geddy"? Any true RUSH fan will know that. He was my idol along with Steve Harris, and the only one out of my three biggest influences that I haven't met yet!
Getting back to the topic, I had TONS of posters on my walls! I even had three posters from the 70's. Does anyone remember those HUGE band collage posters? They were like three feet across and five feet high? I had one each for Rush, Kiss & Zeppelin. I also had a ton of Priest, Maiden, Saxon, Crue, Tygers of Pan Tang, Accept, Angel, Starz, Queen, Riot, Kiss, Aerosmith, Bad Company....I could go on...

His nickname came from his Grandmother. When she said his real name Gary with her thick Hungarian accent it sounded like Geddy. <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">
Another pop quiz.....what is his full name? <img src="smile.gif" border="0">
when i was 14, I had the walls covered with Duran and Simon Lebon posters/pics everywhere.
Around 18, I had the coolest red and black Bauhaus poster of Peter Murphy, and an oversized black and white poster of Robert Smith. My friend and I had the funnest time drinking one night and he started drawing spider webs and little spiders hanging down from Smith's big 'fro. I laughed for weeks looking at that one. (making fun of the 'oh, it has to be morbid' goth attitude some people had. haha
I don't recall any 80's posters on my wall. I always had the room panelled with Led Zeppelin stuff. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Really? Zep is my all time FAVORITE! I had a nylon black wall hanging with the swan song logo on my wall for the longest time!
Shakey I always knew we were ment for each other <img src="tongue.gif" border="0"> <img src="rolleyes.gif" border="0">
sarasunshine 8-03-01, 12:19 PM I had 4 of those fuzzy Led Zeppelin posters. The black light ones. (also had the black light...hehehe, what a dork I am), I still have them actually. And some of the other posters I had were the Corey's , some wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and Ricky "the steamboat" (i forget his last name), Guns n Roses, New Kids on The Block (yikes, can't believe I admitted that), Johnny Depp, Keifer Sutherland...and lots of others that I can't remember right now.
80sSmurf 8-03-01, 02:08 PM I had two HUUUUGE movieposters, they were something like twice the size of regular posters; Highlander & The Sicilian. On the inside of my door I had a close-up of an Alien breaking down the door...I thought it was sooo cool...eventually I replaced them all, with a nice selection of comic posters; Spirou, Gaston LaGaffe, Asterix, Marsupilami, Franka, various Corben & Moebius posters...I simply changed between posters every 3-4 months <img src="smile.gif" border="0">
That's so cool Smurfy. I completely forgot about Asterix. What was the big fella's name? Was it Obelisk? We used to read those all the time when we were little 'uns. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">
80sSmurf 8-03-01, 02:46 PM Close Bogie, It was Obelix...and yeah it's one of the greatest comics ever made <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> When ur a kid u just enjoy the stories, the nice detailed artwork, but when u get older u see the wordplay, the ridiculing of bureaucracy etc. it's so hilarious...and I'm proud to say that I still own the entire Asterix collection and I still read 'em <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

Good for you Smurfy. You should be proud of your cartoon bretheren. <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0"> I still see the television cartoon of Asterix from time to time. But unfortunately it's only on the french channels here and Bogie doesn't speak a word of it. <img src="frown.gif" border="0">
80sSmurf 8-03-01, 05:14 PM Me neither <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> It'is a french comic, so I guess it's pretty popular in the frenchspeaking parts of the world.
I've only seen a few episodes of Asterix, and it didn't really do anything for me...I'll just stick with my beloved albums <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">
If u want more Asterix, try this on for size www.asterix.tm.fr/english/index.htm (http://www.asterix.tm.fr/english/index.htm)
Silveradocruiser 8-06-01, 10:28 PM I reacall this HUGE(!?) Samantha Fox poster... <img src="rolleyes.gif" border="0"> <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">
Besides that, there were some of Europe, some movie posters and a lotta cars! <img src="tongue.gif" border="0">

OK try this, maybe this one isn't to tough either.....What do the letters YYZ stand for?
Also in the opening sequence of "YYZ" what is Neil playing on the bells? <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">
Nikki_91 8-07-01, 01:30 AM I had TONS of Rob Lowe, Bon Jovi, and pretty much anything out of BOP Magazine. Corey Haim,River Pheonix, and Duran Duran stuff.
xistenza 8-08-01, 01:05 PM I forgot about Corey Haim & River! I used to be so addicted to all those teen magazines. I remember go through them and clipping out all the pics of cute teenage boys. (damn, wish i still had them...*lol*).
i never really put them on my wall....i think i had a few around my mirror and then the others were just in my boy folders. <img src="wink.gif" border="0">
<img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">
ashers22 8-09-01, 12:49 AM I remeber having a madonna poster up in her true blue phase, plus I had Rainbow Brite wallpaper and Jem wallpaper.
I know I had Shaun Cassidy, and probably Rob Lowe, and Michael Damian.
Then when Duran Duran came along, that was it. My walls were covered, ranging from the big posters you got in the mall to the pin ups in 16 magazine (That was what it was called right?) I liked Nick the best, so I had some nice ones of him. Still have them all somewhere.
I cant believe how many D2 fans there are in this 80's exchange. Hardly anyone in my town was as fanatic about them as me. I used to have to have pen pals (which was cool, I had them from all over) to gawk over them about.
HHmmm, let's see if I can remember. Oh yes, much of my bedroom walls were actually all band logos that I drew on them. Aerosmith, AC/DC, Boston etc...
The one poster I did have was Cheryl Ladd in black leather. Oh yeah! Anyone remember that one?
That was probably more 70-'s than 80's as I did start high school in 79.
Was that a bone that I heard cracking???
Almost forgot about Rush! Their logo was on my wall too. After all, I am a bass player
<img src="tongue.gif" border="0">

Two great movies and an awesome comic. I have all of them! Asterix is a classic!
Caligula 8-12-01, 04:05 PM my walls included:
a big white banner of Black Sabbath, with and orange cross in the middle that sort of glowed in the dark
The standard Kiss Destroyer poster
A Loni Anderson Poster
A few movie posters which included Blame it on Rio and Porky's
oh yeah I had a poster that said "this buds for you" and showed marijuana plants , but it was only up for about a day before my father noticed it and freaked. <img src="cool.gif" border="0">
Hmm...let's see:
Corey Haim, Kirk Cameron, Emilio Estevez & Charlie Sheen, Johnny Depp, Keanu Reeves, one Andrew McCarthy, NKOTB - a lot of them!!!, KISS, and some of the most recent - well, maybe quite a few years ago: Brandon Lee, Dolph Lundgren, Lorenzo Lamas, even a small postcard size one of Freddy Krueger!!
Hmmm.... let's see... the bands I had on my walls.... KISS, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden (it was a huge poster on the "Piece of Mind" album), Crue, Ozzy w/ Randy Rhodes, Van Halen. I had a few girlie posters too.... http://www.plauder-smilies.de/naughty.gif gee... am I a perv like Not Man??
I can't remember the names but my Mom would always complain... lol

Beep...beep...beep back the fluck up! Who is saying that I am a pervert?!? *Not Man reads back a few posts and sees he called himself a pervert.* Ooops :o Silly me :D LOL
Okay.. I went through three phases..
The first was Duran Duran and Andy Taylor posters and pics.. EVERYWHERE you looked...
Then my next phase was a big switch... the D2 pictures came down and it was all Motley Crue and Nikki Sixx posters.. a few tapestries and a satin Crue pillow.
And when all of that came down.. it was a mix of Anthrax (and a BIG poster of the Not Man), Metallica, Slayer, Helloween,
umm I had a small thing for the Bullet Boys..(I know they don't quite fit in there, but I had them up nonetheless)...
and now... no posters of course... but I DID just bid on a hand signed 8X10 of Lance Bass from *NSync on ebay... Hope I win it!

Uhm... Really? You are joking, aren't you? I'm so confused.
No Shakey.. I'm not joking!! He he heh
I have a bid on two different candid photos 8X10's that are hand signed by my favorite *NSync guy... I just looove his green eyes and blonde hair!
I have always been an *Nsync fan... ;)
They are nothing like those other trendy bands out there in my opinion..
I had a Duran Duran poster that folded up was the cover of a 45. I can't even remember which song it was 'tho.
My favorite was a poster of U2 standing in front of an old Irish castle. That graced my wall throughout high school and all thru college.

Did it happen to be "The Reflex" by any chance? I had that one.
One wall in my room was totally dedicated to Matt Dillon. When I moved out of my parents house - finally, I put most of the smaller clips in plastic and they haven't aged! I've got to get that scanner running.
I stole the Highlander Movie Poster from the theatre so that graced my walls for quite a few years until I got the colossal sized picture of Braveheart.
I used to copy the album's I loved inside my closet so my mother wouldn't freak. Duran Duran's Rio, Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon, I tried to do Grace Under Pressure but I was under the influence and the paint dried. My psuedo "normal teen wall" (to fool the parents) had a poster of hot air balloons and 3 sleeping cats in a basket.
Ted Nugent 9-07-01, 11:26 PM Hmmm.....lets see what I have hanging up, a vintage KISS poster, a 25 year old Led zeppelin poster, a Ted Nugent poster from the early 70's and a few concert T-shirts I got at from all the concerts i went to. :) I'm also getting a nice rack to display my new $400 rifle. :) It's the most gorgeous thing I ever owned. 5 feet of pure beutifulness is the only way to describe it. My wall kinda looks like it was frozen in time from 1987. :)
Duran Duran posters
Duran Duran mirror (YES, I remember those--I had one from the "Arena" album days)
Lots of Duran Duran magazine clippings/pics
...and these are all still on the walls of my old room back home. :p
xistenza 9-24-01, 10:44 PM Shandi - you're so lucky you still have your posters/clippings!! *jealous* I cleaned out everything and threw all my Duran stuff away. I totally regret it.

I'll be mailing something else. ;) It's 5'9 and 180 pounds and it'll be there this Christmas. lol ***Batteries included*** lol :)
xistenza,
I still have all the old Duran memorabilia. I may have took it down, but I am a pack rat, and couldnt throw it away. I have a hat, with all of the D2 pins I collected. I figured maybe one day it would be worth something.
Iluvthe80s 9-26-01, 02:59 AM I did manage to keep my Duran Duran books, scrapbooks, a t-shirt, a hat, and some buttons, plus, there albums on vinyl from the 80's.

wavemaster 9-26-01, 12:45 PM Oh TC...let me know what Ted have sent you this chrismas then...normally I wouldn´t dare to ask, but you know the saying, curiosity killed the cat... :D
Think I´ve answered that somewhere else, but giving my age and the resulting problems with keeping things in mind for a longer time... :D :
First, there were tons of cars and bikes on my walls. Soon they were replaced by pics and posters of artists...I had the silver foil of Depeche Mode, size of a 12" which was a part of the "The Singles 81 - 86" LP among other Mode stuff, and a lot of Front 242 posters as I liked the music and the industrial/militaria artworks. Flags of the Jolly Roger and Ferrari plus some signs snatched from road construction sites completed that ensemble...a true wave cave. :D
Tydestra 9-26-01, 07:41 PM ***Warning the following post contains vast amounts of drooling, sexed up rants/raves and similar material.***
Bret Micheals' pouting lips Pin-Up taken from the Every Rose Has Its Thorn video. Special Bonus: Bret no shirt... need I say more?
Poison Poster Added Bonus: Full pouty lips, Glamed Out, Rikki and Bret no shirts. Heaven, I'm in Heaven!
Guns-n-Roses Pin-Up, Added Bonus: Slash's hair is a bit more than usally out of his face.
Bon Jovi huge Ad for the new album and the re-masters... taken from Virgin. Super Bonus: Its freaking HUGE! :D
Aerosmith Pin-Up, Bonus: Mmmm, Joe Perry
Sebastian Bach Pin-Up Bonus: Super "How the hell did he get into those leather pants?" full body shot.
Motley Crue Pin-Up Bonus: Nikki 's in the front!
Tydestra 9-26-01, 07:43 PM Oops, I sorta pulled a double post there. Oh well... I'm adding more posters to my room soon. :D
I had:
a multicolor, all-felt Lamborgini poster
a Miami Vice poster
a Ghostbusters poster
a Levi's poster
I was really into movie posters, so I had posters from White Knights and Spies Like Us. Those are the only two I can remember off the top of my head. Early 80s, my room was all about whomever was featured in Teen Beat.
Greenway88 6-07-02, 04:13 PM I had an a-ha poster and a Go West poster. They went along nicely with the ASIA mirror I won at the state fair!
Nice work digging this thread up again, Greenway :thumb:
I had one side of my room filled with A-ha posters: The band together and Morten Harket posters. The other was filled with bands such as Slayer, Dio, Metallica and a special frame where I kept all my concert tickets. Cheesy, I know
Ohh, yeah. Almost forgot. I also had some spooky candlesticks that resembled the heads of hooded, evil looking monks on the "metal" wall
Posters of Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode and Morten Harket from a-ha.
iloveknightrider 6-08-02, 03:59 AM Duran Duran
Purple Rain movie poster
M. Jackson
KNOTB
psychocandy 6-08-02, 11:28 AM The Jesus and Mary Chain
A-ha tour poster
Cheap Trick (mmm men in leather pants)
U2
Psychedelic Furs (more men in leather)
lots of cutouts from Star Hits and Rolling Stone, several of the Alfa Spider I wanted, and and about a million pictures of Mario Lemieux.
Femmetal 6-09-02, 04:23 AM I had mixture of posters and pinups from heavy metal magazines. Included were: Lita Ford (was a HUGE fan); W.A.S.P.; Motley Crue; Twisted Sister; Quiet Riot; KISS (had Gene Simmons on my ceiling); Cinderella; Faster Pussycat; L.A. Guns; Def Leppard; Bulletboys; Dokken; and Poison. Also had a big poster of an English Springer Spaniel, LOVE the breed and grew-up with 2:)
BlitzKid 6-10-02, 04:38 AM My bedroom was full of a-ha posters for years, no big suprise there ;) Later on (end of the 80s) I added Corey Haim, Spandau Ballet, Madonna and Sandra. And there is this british Model Mark Sigl who was in a Clearasil commercial, it was not easy to get some of his posters, but I did it. :)
Now it is a big Midge Ure poster of the 2000 Move me - Tour, a Koala family and Spiderman crawling up a wall. Never removed that old Spandau poster as well...
