Does anyone remember this group? The members of the band were skaters and surfers who sang about that. I use to the have the cassette and now have no idea where it is or where I can find it. HELP!!!:confused:

I used to play these guys when I DJ'd for my college radio station. I only remember them vaguely:

I think the also had a songed called "Gotta Get Air". I think that was a skateboarding song. I couldn't play too many of their songs as the lyrics were peppered with too much cursing and I didn't like having to bleep it.

I think I would classify them as rap from that one album.

I think they did something on a "Christmas Rap" lp that I have.

That was the Surf Punks 2cnd album Im pretty sure. Cant Get A Tan was on their first album (MY BEACH)...... I listen to them constantly!!!!!

I have that tape. Their names were Philly-Phil, IVE, Sidewalk and Cool G. I'd like to know what ever became of them. If you have any info on them, I'd appreciate it.

Well, I collect Surf music old and new so I picked up The Surf M.C.s 1987 LP "Surf Or Die"! It's okay, not really my bag. They mix rap and surf with a Punk edge! They are the ones who did "A Surf M.C. New Year" on the "Christmas Rap" release.(I also collect Christmas music,so I have this as well!) The Surf Punks were a totally different band! More to my liking! They actually released four albums in the 80's "My Beach","Locals Only","Party Bomb" and "Oh No! Not them Again!" Besides some great originals they did some great remakes of old songs! Never taking themselves serious,(Or anything else for that matter! :lol: ) Their party now attitude made them one of my favorite "newer" Surf bands.
