I was in 10th grade, and tickets for Duran Duran were going on sale, and I wanted to go so bad!!! So, I cut class with 2 of my friends, stood in line at Ticketron and got them!!! I called myself in, (my mom and I sounded alike on the phone), and then crashed at my friends house, since her parents both worked.

Lame, I know, but I was only 15!!:D

I never did it. Nope, not even once.

I know, I know; that's pathetic. :( I actually liked school though, so I really had no reason to skip.

I was also in 10th grade when I first cut class.

My girlfriend and I were getting to that part of the relationship where we wanted to take things to the next level (you know what I mean). She mapped out the perfect time where we could be together the entire day without the fear of being caught or interrupted at her house. Yes, that day, I became a man!

I hear you Sean, I think I was in 10th grade at the time also. My highschool boyfriend use to come and pick me up. One day we decided to not go to class one day, and that is when it happened. Well anyway I think that is when I first skipped a class.

I didn't cut school for the 1st time until the 11th grade. My boyfriend I had at the time & I went to the lake for the day.

It was in the 9th grade. 2 of my friends and I wanted to see what would happen if we skipped. 9th grade was still Jr. High where I went to school, so this was a pretty big deal. We spent the whole time in the bathroom scared to death we were going to get caught. I was an office assistant that semester, so I somehow worked it so we didn't get caught. I was quite the sneaky one.

A bunch of my friends and I took a "college" day our senior year. We were supposed to take the day and go talk with administrators at Norte Dame University, but we spent the day shopping at the mall and watching movies at the bijoux...

Uh...I don't think that really counts.....!!! (LOL)

I thought cutting was either totally not going in, just 'cuz, or calling yourself in. (i.e. Pretending to be a 'rent.) Sweetie...you are just too good!!!

I know, I went to Catholic School, remember? They shamed us into obedience, so I never did anything too bad at school. But I did burn down my fathers stable's as I was a little pyromaniac!!! ;)

I started cutting school in Japan. I had just got two tabletop arcade games and was hooked, Pac-Man and Donkey Kong were the games. I invited about 4-5 friends over to play them while we watched movies, what a day! That was, until my dad came home for some papers! Boy, you've never seen people scramble to get out a window so fast in your life!!!

After skipping that first time, it kinda made it easy to skip more often for any reason. I remember skipping so much that my senior year I almost didn't graduate because of unexcused absencies. That would have shocked my mom.
Luckily I knew the principals sec. that I had her look up my absencies so that I could still participate in Senior Skip Day.(I was able to by the way)But as a result I had to serve 2 Saturday D-halls. ( I got to finish my term paper though)

The first time I cut class was 9th grade and I played hacky sack in front of 7-11. I had to serve detention for that. My school was really strict, we even has security guards. I think they thought there job was to hit on all the girls and see how many the can sleep with. Whats jerks! :hammer:

The first time I really cut school was in the 10th grade. My best friend and I just didn't show. We wanted to see if we could get away with it. We didn't. My mom was soooo pissed at me. But, we learned the valuable steps to skipping appropriately after that. ;) Then it became a once a month or so deal with us. :D

I never skipped school. I had better things to do at high school like raise a family. If I cut school it would have beeen because my son was sick, thank God that never happened.
I remember one time I missed school and when you do that you have to get a permission slip from your parents. Well i didn't think I needed to since I didn't live with my mother. But the teacher insisted I go to the office and talk to them about it.
The secretary told me that I couldn't go back to class untill i got a permission slip from my mommy..
I pulled up my shirt and showed her my growing belly,,,, and I showed her my wedding ring...
And I told her
" My mother lost her motherly privlidges when i moved out at the age of 14.. i am a mother now.. "

From then on I just signed my own slips.

I only skipped high school once, and it wasn't until 12th grade. I had an English paper due that day that I hadn't finished. My friend picked me up and we went to her house, ordered pizza, and I finished my English paper. Is that lame or what? I hooked school to do homework. Ugh...

LOL, you sound like me! I was such a good girl, ha ha.

I can't remember skipping a whole day of school, for a reason other than flat-out telling my mother that I was taking a mental health day, and would she call in sick for me. She always agreed to it, because I only asked her once in a while.

I cut the occasional class from seventh grade through high school... you can't be too perfect. I only got caught two or three times, though. Once in eighth grade, I was stuck in detention with a boy I had a huge crush on, and we had to redo all of our social studies teacher's bulletin boards as our punishment. (cut the backing paper, put it up, cut out letters... ack!!) The mental torture was much worse than actually being in detention.

I got into a brief habit of skipping class with my boyfriend in eleventh grade... boy, was that ever fun, and totally worth the 3 days of detention when we got caught. We only dated about a month, but it was one of the best months of my life. He died in a car accident about eighteen months later, so any memory of him is precious, even detention.

We also left school early on a half-day junior year, and went to McDonald's. (the closest one, 25 miles away, I'm a country girl ;) ) When we got there, a county sheriff's deputy was sitting across from us, and he made us so paranoid! ROFL! Kai and I wound up flirting with him to "throw him off the scent"... what a riot!

Funny rumor from my high school days... one day in the winter of senior year, I heard that one of the most popular girls in my class was in the nurse's office, getting it on with somebody else's boyfriend. Half the school came up with dumb excuses to go to the nurse that day just to walk by and see what was going on. Ha!!

Sophmore Year and I was the only one among my friends with a car. I'd go to my closest friends to pick her up for school and instead we headed to the mall and spent all day getting make overs, trying on clothes we wish we could buy and watching movies.
Unfortunately my mom saw me driving in the opposite direction from school that morning when she dropped off my brother at jr. high. She waited for my dad to come home that evening and made the announcement during dinner. He gave me the responsibility lecture right there and then. I then had to go wash his car, my mom's truck, the boat and my own car before bed. He'd join me later to help and tell me he didn't really mind if I ditched as long as I didn't miss any tests or important work, get any of my friends in trouble or get caught by my mom cause he'd be in trouble for letting me have the car. My dad was so cool.

This has been so many years ago...I think the first time I ditched school at all was my senior year. I MIGHT have during my junior year, but I don't know why I would have, even though I HATED my high school with a burning passion.

In my senior year I hooked up with my g/f (well ex now), and we just spent most of the day elsewhere... no not getting laid, we had not gone that far yet.

Although I must say my late 18th birthday present was nice. :D

I shall leave it at that.

I probably ditched in my junior year with a friend to go play with our cars, but I only remember that after school.

I had just turned 15, and it was the end of my freshman year of high school. My best friend was a senior, and it was "senior skip-day" for her. I had been having a lousy day, so I went along with her after she invited me. We left after our 2nd period drama class, and rode the city bus downtown. We ate and went shopping, and still made it back in time for me to catch the school bus home that afternoon!

I think the first time I skipped school was grade 7 and nothing exciting, we just bought frozen pizza's and cooked them up. But I did skip alot after that and it usually involved hangin at the arcade or partying

Boy, you people were good compared to me! I skipped a day, or a class all the time since 8th grade, and my mom actually covered me with a note...school was a drag, ZZzzzz...too many cute boys, parties and good music down at the corner store or where ever. Yep, we were a bunch of juvies...I wrote all the absentee notes for all my deliquent friends on my bus...!

Funny tho, I still manged to graduate at the top of my class--20th in a class of 1200...(just had my 20th year reunion, and we all had a good laugh--yes, I'm OLD) and logged 60 classes missed and 65 was the cut off to graduate...and yes, I even made it through college and graced class only on a whim there too!

Although I had a blast, this goes down as one of things I hope my kids never do! LOL!

The first time I skipped school was in the 8th grade. The bus was running late picking us up,and someone mentioned that if the bus was 'X' amount of minutes late then it was okay to go home and you wouldn't be required to attend school that day. (yeah,I was naive)
So we had this ingenious idea to go to my friends house and hide..so when the bus came we wouldn't be there and we could claim that the bus never showed up. ..I know,I know!
Anyhow...the bus showed up and started blowing the horn and my mother came looking for us (she was an apartment manager and the bus picked us up directly in front of her office).
We hid in my friends apartment all day.My mother sent the police to the apartment and we didn't answer..about 15 minutes later the pizza we ordered arrived and all of us girls(5 of us) thought the pizza guy was hot so we hit on him and convinced him to quit and to take us riding around in his car! :naughty:
When we all went outside to get in his car,my boyfriend pulled up and my mother and the 2 police officers were standing nearby talking

Needless to say I learned my lesson.....NOT!
That was the beginning of my juvenile delinquent stage and skipping school was a regular occurance from then on:D

The First Time I skip School was in the 7th Grade, My friend Debbi and I had her Aunt call in for us and tell them we were sick- We skip that whole week and just hung out!! Everything was cool, until Debbi actually did get sick and her Mom called in for her and the Principle ask if everything was ok - And her mom asked why and he say - Well Debbi has been out for a week now and we were bit concern!! And Debbi's Mom was like as for as I knew my Daughter was fine and at School.

Needless to say, I didn't know any of this had happened until I went to school that Morning and then Principle pulled me into the Office, called my mom and Supenced me for three days and then My Mom Ground me for three Months !!

The first time I skipped school was in 9th Grade (1988). We went over to my friend's place to drink beer and watch movies. She lived 2 houses away from the school, so we had the blinds tightly shut and all the lights out. That was the beginning of a long truant career spanning the rest of my high school days.

These are really funny. Its the same for me, once I did it, it was a life filled with figuring out ways to do it.
Probably the first time was when I went to see my ex-boyfriend. I was still in Jr. high, and he had moved up to High school. I took the bus to my school, and then just walked off down the street. I walked to the high school to meet the guy.
Later, when I was in high school, and had another boyfriend, we used to take "exploring days". We could be absent 20 times during the year. That gave us two "days" a month. We were exploring nature, (in more ways than one, ;) hee hee) during the different seasons of the year. The funniest part was when one of my teachers was so concerned about my absences, and when we got to 20 days we stopped, so then that teacher was so proud of me that I had improved my attendance. Ha ha. I had it all worked out.

I never skipped school or class. But every year our senior class would have a senior sip day and some seniors would go up to Lechworth State Park and spend the day. The year I graduated the seniors that went got caught and almost didn't get to graduate. They were very naughty students.

We were allowed to miss 10 days per semester and from the 10th grade on I missed 10 days a semester which were almost all skip days. We would drive around town until we could find someone crazy enough to sell us liquor, then we'd drive down to the rock quarry and spend the rest of the day getting drunk. Ahh, the good ol' days.

I couldn't really get away with skipping school because everyone in town knew my parents, so everyone knew ME, and if they had seen me out and about during school hours it would have gotten back to my parents. "Oh, I saw Sarah at the drug store yesterday afternoon. Was school closed yesterday?"

So........my friends and I had to be creative about skipping. Some of us taught science to elementary school kids as our project for our advanced biology class. We'd tell our teacher we were teaching that afternoon and then go do something else. I was also a bit of a goody-goody in school, so my friends and I were always being selected to be student reps for special committees and stuff. We were on one that met early in the morning before school. The vice principal was there too, but he always left early so he'd be at school when it started. We were supposed to leave and go back to school, but we usually went out for breakfast afterwards and skipped the first 2 or 3 classes of the day. One time we were signing the register in the office at school and the V.P. came out of his office, looked at the clock, looked at us and said "so, how was breakfast today?" We thought we were in trouble, but he just told us to bring him something the next time we were out. It really paid to be a "good" kid because we got away with a lot of crap that other kids would have been in detention for.

Started ditching my senior year. Usually would cut the period before lunch to take a longer lunch. At my school once you turned 18 the school declared you emancipated so you could write yourself out or call yourself in. I only called in for the full day one time, on Senior Ditch Day. Pretty cool to call up attendance and say "I'm not coming in today", as I'm sure quite a few students did that day. :D I ended up meeting up with my friends for breakfast, and spent the afternoon playing volleyball & drinking.

Since I went to a boarding school, I couldn't really skip school, except for Senior cut day when we did our prank at the end of the year.

I did however sneak off campus a lot at night and go places, which was a thrill at that age. Never once got caught either. :)

Luckily for me, my voice changed at an early age and in the Spring of '84 (Junior year in high school), I called in sick, pretending to be my father for over three weeks. I spent most of the time watching All My Children (along with persons of the opposite sex who shall remain nameless). Finally, someone at the school finally wised up and called my mom at work to show their 'concern' about my illness. I don't remember being punished too badly, but that was a rough year in terms of passing grades!

Do not try this at home! :tsk:

As odd as this may sound, it was my Dad who convinced me to cut school for the first time. I was in grade 10, and the day was Wednesday, May 7, 1986.

Dad had the day off from work, and he was planning to pick me up at noon to take me out for lunch. Because it was such a beautiful day, he suggested that I take the afternoon off so he could pitch me batting practice at the ball park. I hit my first out-of-the-park home run that day, and I'll never forget it as long as I live.

Funny thing about that. When I was graduating from high school in 1988, I confessed to my English teacher that I'd skipped her class that day and explained the reason why. She was overwhelmingly supportive!

I was a late bloomer on this! I didn't really cut school I cut my last period class in my senior year which was basically an elective class call Career English a real yawner! My fifth period class was in the basement near the side exits as soon as the halls were clear I made a run for it. I think I did that like 15 to 20 times. I ended up getting a B out of that class!

It was my freshmen year and I cut my home economics final to make out with a boy I had met at a party a few days before. We made out in his friends car ( on the school property - gutsy or what- LOL ). Needless to say my teacher found out and wouldn't let me make up the exam, so I ended up flunking the class. My mom found out ( boy was she Mad ) and I got grounded for a month !!!!! :spankin: Those were the days...... :)

I was in 7th grade. I was a surfer boy, and the youngest of an older and very radical crowd. The waves were good. My friends intercepted me on my way to school. I was afraid my parents would kick my butt, so I wasn't going to do it.

So they picked me up, and tossed me in the trunk of the car and drove to Santa Cruz! (Honest, mom, I was kidnapped.)

Did you mean cut voluntarily?! Uuuhh... well... after that little incident, I tried to figure out how many unexcused absences I could have without seriously damaging my grades. And then used them all up when the waves were good.

I skipped school the one and only time when i was in 6 grade back in 1988-89 school year, i grew up in Crown Heights brooklyn New York, there were kids in elementary school skipping also. See i skipped school that spring day cause it was ahot day and we we told that most of our real teachers were absent that day. I wasn't much of a knuckle head but i just wanted to know what life would be like hanging with the idiots. Man was it ever boring, i remember going to one of my friends house, he said that he had a Nintendo and we could play i think it was the new Maga man or Contra. Well it turned out that we walked about 20 minutes to his house only to find out that his mother was home and his father was on the phone. He had gotten in trouble for skipping school but me and the other guys didn't we all just went to our own houses. I never skipped school ever again. There was nothing fun for kids to do while schools in session.

The first time I skipped was toward the end of 8th grade. Our school had "Inhouse Detention" which was kind like getting suspended, except you still had to go to school. There was this little room off of the Study hall and you sat in there all day with whichever punks also got caught. ANYWAY, I was about to be done with Jr. High and had never been in there, so my stupid friends and I were thinking of something badass to do, and we all agreed if we got caught it would be cool, we'd all fess up and have Inhouse together. We couldn't think of anything cool to do so we just decided to hang out in one of the bathrooms, so lame! Everything was going fine until this little 6th grader who rode my bus came in and then told on us! So we all got Inhouse and spent all of the next day there. It was not as fun as I thought it would be. :duh:
I don't think I got in too much trouble with mom and dad.
That 6th grader had a VERY difficult bus ride from that day on, she might still be afraid of me...
As I got older, skipping school became much more fun (after I got a car) and there were always ways to get out of trouble...

The first time I skipped a class was in fourth grade. A friend of mine talked me into going off campus with her. There was a Venture store a few blocks down and we went there but then got too scared to go in and went back. we were allowed to bring our rollerskates in for recess and the next week we just skated off. We would have been fine except we wanted to buy gum so we went into this diner where our English teacher was having lunch. We got into so much trouble, suspended from a class trip and I was grounded for a month.

You'd think I'd learned from that but no. In junior high we would always hang out together and school was fantastic so we never skipped. But then the last three years, I was really bitten by the skipping bug :yesnod: What helped matters along was that I was having a lot of food allergies and my mother had called the school to explain. So after that every time I didn't feel like being in school, I'd use that as an excuse. I didn't hang out with the trouble makers so they didn't suspect a thing. There was a coffee shop where we used to hang out (this was back in Europe where skipping laws weren't as tough as in the US). My rule was, if I missed the bus to school (public transport), I'd go and treat myself to coffee. I had to be real careful because the staff there all new my mum as she was a regular and she would sometimes walk past on her lunch break but they were really cool and never snitched on me

Our last year, my best friend and I would always skip school and either go to her house or we would smoke behind the school. Our regular diet was a bag of chips, a diet coke each and a lot of cigarettes. This math teacher caught us once and he was a real mean b****rd but for some reason I got along with him. He knew I hated math and all he said was that he'd seen me there smoking but it wasn't a big deal. We also used to skip school to hang out with my brother and his friends when they were in town. He never told on us, not even when our parents became suspicious.
