Welcome to the community. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif Well, I never did finish that Rubiks Cube. But I wasn't one of the smart kids anyway! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/tongue.gif Sorry I'm running in and out of here so fast tonight. I'm exhausted so I'm gonna head to bed. I did alot of work tonight, so.. Seeyas tomorrow... ------------------ Sal Collaziano Iluvthe80s 5-09-01, 01:22 AM I've had one since the 80's that has probably never been solved. I got one or two sides though. Roemello 5-09-01, 03:03 AM After much frustration, I finished that damn thing http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//tongue.gif Man did that ever drive me nuts! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//hammer.gifhttp://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif Don't have it anymore though...wonder how I'd fair with it now.... ------------------ - Roemello http://spiffyentertainment.8m.com http://roemello.80sxchange.com "Only the meek get pinched. (He's in Guiness book of records) They'd let him look at six cubes for about 5-10 minutes, to memorize them, put a blindfold on him and then he would solve all of them in like 5 minutes!! Amazing! Shakey 5-09-01, 08:25 AM Heh! I only ever solved one once. My folks got me one for Christmas. Well... A couple of days before Christmas, I decided to do a little snooping. Found the cube and decided to mess around with it. Wound up getting it all screwed up. I must have sat for hours twisting that miserable thing (panicing about what my folks would do to me if they found out)... Finally got it straightened out and put back up. Mom and Dad never did understand why I didn't play with it on Christmas Day. :D djdaffy1227 5-09-01, 12:33 PM I solved the Rubiks cube once, of course, I took the stickers off and put them in the right place Silveradocruiser 5-09-01, 04:10 PM HEY!!! That's cheating!! Now go to Your room, and don't come back till You've solved the cube!!! :p Roemello 5-09-01, 04:29 PM I've heard a lot of people did it that way...seems to be the cheating method of choice... http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif Sarg 5-10-01, 01:06 AM My wife could never solve the cube in the 80's. She used to take care of an old man who could solve the Rubic's cube with his eyes closed, and he taught her how to solve it a few months ago, and now it's a breeze for her. Frustrated the heck out of me! Recker 1-15-02, 01:37 AM Ahhhhh the Rubick's Cube. Anybody who was anybody had a cube at school. Of course I was always one of the last to get the cool things. It was so popular, one teacher had a cube contest. I didn't have mine at the time, so it was my goal to win the next one. So I got my cube, learnt all my own moves and had it down to just under 2 minutes completing it. One rather dubious friend actually timed me once as under a minute, but I think he screwed that one up. He insisted, but I didn't believe it. A popular method to make the cube spin faster was greasing it with vasciline. Alas, it didn't help me much, because it would slip out of my hand too often! Unfortunately there were no more cube competitions after that and then the fad quickly died. ImSoooSure 1-15-02, 03:06 AM Originally posted by djdaffy1227 I solved the Rubiks cube once, of course, I took the stickers off and put them in the right place I bet Shakey wishes he had thought of that!:D :p Caligula 1-15-02, 05:44 AM HA I couldn't solve it, I could get one or two sides. You know I'm thinking outloud now, but I bet if it was rereleased in mass quantity and advertised, like the yo-yo of a few years ago, it could make a short comeback. Dancingdoll1986 1-15-02, 10:12 AM UGH!!! That thing drove me absolutely bat$shit!!!! I know I threw it against a wall at some point. I also took off the stickers and put them in the right place. At some point, I took the whole damn thing apart and tried to put it back together, but was unable to and threw the whole mess away!! sassy 1-15-02, 10:39 AM I found one and showed my boys. I told them to try it out. They took it in there hands and just stared at it. They were waiting for it to make some noise. Ofcourse they hated it. I only got two colors on it... then i took it apart and put it back together the right way. Gman 1-16-02, 12:36 AM I finished mine with a hammer. Trixter 1-16-02, 06:24 AM I had a Rubik's cube back in the day, worked at it, looked promising a few times, but alas it wasn't meant to be....did I solve it? Well, sort of, I peeled every sticker off of that damn cube and reapplied them so it looked like I did! TopCat 1-16-02, 07:39 AM Originally posted by Milani I only got two colors on it... then i took it apart and put it back together the right way.
