There are some video games your character dies, and it pisses you off; Then there are games where you die, and you end up laughing because the way the character dies it's funny.

What are some games you play in which it's funnier to watch the character die and how do they die?

Two games I can think of are for the Original NES

Gyromite- the object is to maneuver the professor through gates. However, it's funnier watching him touch the enemy or getting squashed by the gates.

Balloon Fight- you are in a hot-air balloon. When an electrical storm hits you, you're electrocuted and your guy falls to the water.

The games can either be current video games or games from the 80's.

When I'd get bored, I'd purposely have the Pitfall guy get eaten by the gators. I also, liked killing off Frogger and the sound of the snake dying Q-Bert.

Raiders of the Lost Ark, definitely. I sucked at that game. Indy would always get stuck in the room with the tsetse flies, and get frozen. The noise that he made when he died made me so mad, but amused me anyway. I wish I could find a WAV of that. I know what I'm doing before Friends comes on tonight. Heh!!

It was also fun to purposely drop E.T. in those holes and run down his energy by making him lift his neck all the time... sadistic little kids we were!

Do the old Sierra computer adventure games like "Space Quest" and "Leisure Suit Larry" count? Many funny ways to die in those ones....

or "Battle Chess" too, where every piece had a specialized animation for capturing any other kind of piece, many of which were humorous.

There was an arcade game I used to play, it could have up to four players. There was a thor-type warrior, a valkyrie, a wizard and an elf. When a character dies the machine would say, for example "Valkyrie is about to die." Then you would hear her die and let out a moan, the warrior did this as well. It was hilarious because they sounded like they were having orgasms! :lol: My friend and I would sometimes purposely kill the warrior and then the valkyrie so they would almost moan simultaneously, to simulate sex between them. God, I had way too much time on my hands!!! :lol:

That would be 'Gauntlet' Trixter :cool: Now I wanna get that going on MAME just to hear that again...:lol:

Another that just came to mind....'Food Fight' If one of the chefs beaned ya, you got pelted and covered in every food item on the screen...more unique than funny I guess :p

I kind of liked how in Contra for the NES you used to do a backflip and land flat on your back EVERY time you died. I mean that game was tough so I did die a fair amount of times during the game.

Another one that was funny was in EPYX Winter Games for the computer and the NES..on the Hot Dog event when you would mess up on a jump and land on your head ..your head would be buried in the snow and it looked like ants were eating your head! because of the black pixels around your guy.

of more current games, i love how your characters get killed in warcraft2 especially playing the orcs
