Yeah, I never went along with that stuff either. I think that was a preppy thing anyway. I wasn't into that stuff. Another thing I wouldn't have done then or now is the colored hair. Not for me! It looks nice on some people, but not I! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif

Remember those dresses that had the puffy sleeves? Yuk! How did anyone think they looked good? Especially in the metallic material.

PENNY LOAFERS!!

I don't know about where you live but here is small-town hell, everyone wanted to be like Michael Jackson. Except for me 'cuz I wanted to be like Motley Crue, Lita Ford, etc. Anyway, remember those crappy penny loafers he used to wear? Remember those Michael Jackson jackets? I used to laugh my ass off at people.

I loved to watch Michael Jackson dance (when he actually danced instead of grabbing himself every few seconds)but that was it.

Love to all,

Dawn

LOL Well I used to do the coloured hair thing!! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif I bleached my hair white and used to wear blue, pink or green streaks in my hair. My dad had a fit the first time he saw me!! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif
The one fad I hated then and definitely wouldn't do now is the belted sweater thing!!
(after 2 children and extra pounds I would look like a moose LOL http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif
I was the zipper jeans and many belts type of girl.

Hi Ayla http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif I agree the belt with the sweater thing looked stupid to me, I was at that time 36-25-36 and always thought I was fat no matter how I looked or what I wore http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/frown.gif Now all I can wear are jeans and really baggie T Shirts! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif

Okay. I know what we need here...

The 80'sXChange All Natural Gym

hehe

During certain hours of the day, there will be certain types of 80s music playing.. LOUD. And at night time, a night club open upstairs with, well, 80's music!

Now who's gonna chip in so we can make this a reality? http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif An 80sXChange Gym in every town. hehe http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif

It's very boring to train with the 90s music that's been going around. Actually, some of the upbeat dance music in the late 90's was pretty good. But it still doesn't beat the older stuff. Especially the rock music.

Huge fringes!!!!!!!

I remember a lot of the girls at my school would tease their fringes with hairspray, big enough to the extent that it would be capable of knocking books of the shelf in the library if they suddenly turned their heads! crazy stuff!!!

What are fringes? I thought they were the little things that hung off the leather jackets. hehehe

another thing was people used to use just heaps more hairspray & gel in general. Their hairdos would be almost a solid construction

Since I was born too late to do the 80s style in the 80s. I do some now http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smile.gif

The hair... not its regualar balck, but I had it dyed purple, red, blue. I've had it teased... on hair day (and I won!)

Ripped t-shirts, tight leather pants, studded belts, club t-shirts.

http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif That's what I do!

The Madonna look..(circa: Borderline, Like A Virgin look)..all those copycats.
Everytime I think of that, I always recall those "Rockumentaries" they used to show on MTV..the one on Madonna featured when she opened her clothing line in Bloomingdales and all those girls copying each other saying how "Original" their look was. (Yeah, her and about 300 other New Yorkers in the store..LOL)

19 is legal up here (but hey its cold start drinking by at least 16 lol)

I had lace gloves and I shudder at some of the do's I had. I'm looking at old photos where at every party I went to everyone wore their sunglasses (thankyou Cory Hart). I couldn't imagine today wearing my sunglasses out to a bar. The worst make-up fad faux pas I did was wear purple eyeliner, purple mascara and purple eyeshadow ummm purple does not look good on a redhead with green eyes (I always wondered why I looked somewhat sick in photos - it was the eye gook lol)

Rat tails. I had one. Bleached it white and got in a *big* fight with my dad over it.

Long bangs. I had bangs that were longer than the back of my hair.

I did the A Flock of Seagulls hair thing for a long time. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/eek.gif

Anybody here remember the shoes called Turtles? I also don't miss the sleeveless shirt thing, though I *do* still have a pair of black and white checkered Vans. I searched for them for *years!* http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hypercolors? Wow! There was a point where people kind of thought the idea wasn't that great, as they changed colors on the warm spots. Needless to say, warm spots on people can be in the *strangest* places.
