Just been listening to a cd that included Heaven 17's 'Temptation', and I must confess I had forgotten just what a *major* kick-ass song that was!!

Anyone else share the same view? A forgotten 80's classic methinks..... :thumb:

Forgotten??? What do you mean forgotten??? *G* Brilliant song! It's on one of my favourite compilations (a Danish one of course..) so I've been listening to it at least once a week for a couple of years now...... :)

Here's a wild guess. Is it the Just Can't Get Enough 2CD, Kayenne? One of the best 80's compilations I have ever seen.

I didn't care too much for Heaven 17 back in the 80's, but I started to listen to them after the re-release of Temptation in 1992. The new version was crap, but the old version is brilliant.

OOooOoooh, I love it when you make your point forcefully, Kayenne.... :p

For such a popular songiIt was quite hard to get hold of a copy on AudioGalaxy/WinMX and Grokster. There weren't that many copies available which was kinda surprising I thought.

I haven't heard it on the radio for a long time either, or on VH1....

'Temptation' is probably the most outstanding song in the career of Heaven 17, especially when comparing it to the more recent outputs of this band.

Whenever I´m listening to it in my car, you can be sure that the volume is cranked up to the max... :D

I agree with Wave. Probably their best song. I have some Heaven 17 on vinyl and a few singles. Ever listen to some of their lyrics??? "Fascist Groove Thing" is sooooo funny.

"...don't just sit there on your arse...." *lol* My friends and I would play that over and over a laugh our arses off.

Also, the pictures of them are SOO 80's!!! It's the worst & best at the same time.

For you Heaven 17 fans. Did the group get their name from the movie 'A Clockwork Orange'?

Yup - or rather from the novel by Anthony Burgess ;)

I remember Temptation when it was on one of the Now That's What I Call Music compilation albums, I think it was on the first one (and now we're into the fiftieth, talk about flogging a horse lol), I used to have it on tape and played that side over and over again.

Heaven 17 is such an under-rated band for many american audiences...glad to see our UK friends keeping them alive!

Here goes a shameless plug: 80's retro...my station...Heaven 17 always in the rotation! Great to see fellow "lost" music lovers here!
