I was just watching David Blaine's latest magic special on TLC. Out of all the magicians/illusionists out there, he has to be the best. He actually freaks me out sometimes with some of the tricks he pulls! And he's the only magician that can actually levitate off the ground while standing. He's far more entertaining than David Copperfield, in my opinion. Does anyone else enjoy David Blaine's magic tricks, or illusions in general?

Michael, I love David Blaine! I have always thought that he was a great entertainer! How the heck does he do the levitation trick?! I mean.. he does it right there on the street!

Only caught his frozen in ice thing awhile back and I thought that was kinda cheesy, but I saw some background on his street work and that is cool. David Copperfield blows, IMHO.

I've never been a huge fan of magicians, but I've never heard of David Blaine. *jen peeks out from under her rock* I kind of liked Zigfreid and Roy. :D

I caught his first special he did way back and the things he could do put the dull and dry, supposedly spectacular illusions that others do to shame. To do the things he does right out in the open on the street is just wild...no silly props or bs, just him :cool:

That levitation this is something else...may only be a couple inches or so, but damn! :eek::lol:

The levitation trick David does is his true claim to fame. It looks as if he levitates half a foot or more off the ground for about five seconds or a tad longer. He was also the guy that was "buried" alive for several weeks in a glass container in Central Park. I think he lost forty pounds while in the container. Yikes!

Who remembers Doug Henning, the curly haired, mustachioed magician, I mean, illusionist. He would have a yearly special on TV in the late 70s/early 80s. We would always watch his specials at my house.

David Blaine...AWESOME!! I really can't figure out how he does what he does??? He is so good, he scares me !! :p

Yup, that levitation trick is truly amazing...and scary!:eek: Haven't seen much of him on Swedish television, but enough to make me think he's a great magician! :)
