Thank you DJDaffy and Wavemaster! This information you guys are putting up is being made into static html pages for the site.

The last update was NOW!

That's great to hear Sal! I knew this information would be a valuable resource to every 80s fanatic!:D :thumb:  It's own pages will make it much easier to find it all so it doesn't get lost in the other posts.

Uh...Iīm not so sure about it, since I had to learn that David Hasselhoff had a #1 here. :D

Sal, you can delete my contributions to Daffys postings, as the German chart positions are available now in itīs own page. Itīs pretty awful to read which artists didnīt made it here...besides, it looks like double posting now. ;)

Oh. Are they all exactly the same? I hadn't taken notice...

I think that is great! This is great information they are giving us and very useful (especially for me).

I hear you, Roem...but like Sal said, they are exactly the same ones, at least for the positions 1-20.
I would like to subscribe to Media control for full access to the charts, but since they have raised the price for it about the factor 10, itīs even more impossible.

Maybe (and only if wanted!), I will add the missing German Chart positions to Daffys charts later, when Iīm through with Germany.

I'm still not 100% sure if I should delete the German Top 20 off of those US Top 40 charts. Is there a definate:

Yes, you should

or

No, you can leave it. It's fine there

?? I just don't wanna delete it if people find it useful there...

Sal, I would like to suggest to set up a page featuring two columns, with the U.S. Top 40 and the German Top 20 displayed simultaneously (I know that this requires some alterations in either one of the posted messages - but hey, you are a god! ;))

Something like this:

"A"

US Top 40 -------- German Top 20

artist --------------- artist

....and so on. I guess thatīs a solution everyone can live with.

Uhh!! That would be perfect - but I will find it hard to find the time to make the changes. Maybe next Sunday (when I actually do this kind of stuff all day long) I'll get to it. But, I usually add in all the other reviews and bios and stuff like that. I may have dug myself a hole I can never get out of! :p

Thanks for the suggestion. It is a good one...

The last update was NOW!

Being new and still somewhat dazed and confused.
But it sounds like there is some good stuff being posted to static html pages but I can't find the link to where its at. Any clues?

There's links on the main forum page right under the topic 'Top 40/Pop' and there's links on the homepage. To make it even easier, here's the links themselves :)

Just a little update on the static pages for the US charts...I've restructured the whole deal into a tabled format and reduced the amount of pages from 77 to 35. And thanks to Daffy, I filled in the missing info that he missed when originally posting all this stuff :)

So now it should be neater and easier to find stuff in....and there's absolutely no broken links anymore :D

Thanks for the update. It makes things easier to navigate now. I probably should have brought this up back then, but a few months ago I happened to notice that Genesis was omitted from the list. I decided to check again today and that is still so (and I know they had a handful of top 40 hits in the 80's including the chart-topping "Invisible Touch").

Uh oh....know what? Sal missed some info when he did the original static pages :uhoh: I just reorganized what was there....he missed that whole page that Genesis was on (as well as a bunch of others). I'll get that fix up :)

EDIT: Actually...I don't think he missed it, I think he accidently deleted it when doing a little site maintenance getting rid of old stuff some months ago. With that in mind, there might be more missing stuff, so if anyone finds there's something missing, let me know :)

Thanks for the heads up Rockboy! Charts updated :verycool:

I knew that I did Genesis :) I was confused to where it went.

Anyhow, I'm glad you found that mistake.

I know this might be a lot of work, but is there any chance of getting UK or Aussie pop charts up? Or maybe U.S. Dance, R&B, Album Rock, College Rock or other charts up?

I started with country and Album rock charts, but with only 1 or 2 hits on any one of them. I kinda thought it was a waste. I would be interested in doing a UK top 40.

Ok, the U.K. top 40 charts are now up on static pages in a nice little alphabetical listing :)
