I remember the Beach Boys having a hit in the 80s around the same time as Kokomo called "Come on, let's cruise". Did that never make it very high in the charts? (Mustn't have made it into the Top 40 I guess.)

I know it was played a lot on New Zealand radio. Don't know how high it got in the charts here though.

Beach boy charted again in 1989 with "Still cruisin'". It went to #93. I don't know if this is the same song you are talking about or not.
