Hey you guys! My hubby just gave me the go ahead to make our annual Mardi Gras party an 80s theme party. Suggestions now on the decor and costumes are in order.:naughty:

I've just been at my friend's house. She is having an 80s theme party for the premier of "That 80s Show". She was such an 80s Freak ( I didn't know her then) She's coming over here Tuesday to look through my stuff. We're looking for clothes from the 80s (I have none left). She's going to look at my yearbooks (AAAAAAHHHHHHH).:eek:

I've also been invited to an 80s themed party for the premier of "That 80s Show". I'm on my way to the thrift store now. I have nothing left from my 80s wardrobe except an old prom dress. I refuse to wear that!!!:eek:

I love 80's themed parties and Mardi Gras, what a great way to celebrate both! I'm throwing an 80's themed party for my 18th birthday, maybe we can share ideas, lol!
Suggestions:
Cheap Strobe Lights (the kind you can get at Wal-Mart for 9.00)
Disco-Ball Shaped Mardi-Gras beads, we have them everywhere around here
Any vintage posters from 80's bands, you can find at old music stores
Lots of 80's music (break out the old A-Track if necessary, j/j or cassetes)
Have everyone try and wear something 80ish, of course!
This is kind of a corny thought, but have everyone bring their favorite album from the 80's that way you can please all your guest with their musical likes.
If you have a favorite 80's band, make it sort of a tribute party and play your bands music most of the night!

(I'm not sure what really to tell you though b/c I don't know what you like, just toy around with different thoughts, just think of parties you went to during the 80s and what made them so great!) Either way it's a theme you can't lose with!

My 80s parties were soaked with Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill, Little Kings, Malt Duck, or Budweiser!

I went through my picture box tonight and dug out some pix from the 80s (gag). I didn't have the big hair. I looked more like Farrah had exploded. More Feathers. LOL

My friend, Shazza has lots of Duran Duran, Adam Ant, etc. posters that she is willing to let me use for my party.

Any more suggestions, please let me know! I was only one part of the 80s experience.:D

I wish i could be a part of that party!Just ad a really big edition to the house so we could all go.:D :hammer:
