Cyndi Lauper debut as a solo artist is one of the most important album in the history of 80s pop. This incredibly fun album contains such great songs as "Girls Just Want to Have Fun", "Time After Time", "All throught the night" and many more. Her unique personality and her videos will remain in my mind forever. One of my all-time favorite female singer, Cyndi Lauper is highly underrated. This is a classic 80s album, a must.

Definately an excellent album, Cyndi Lauper showed the world exactly the persona that she was to wear for years to come, from the Serious Money Changes... through the fun Girls just wanna, and the loving Time after time she showed her ability and emotion. Even with He's so unusual she was able to get accross this concept of a serious artist who although young, was here to stay.

Fab music, great personality and a classically trained singer to boot (believe it or not! )

Cyndi Lauper is the Queen of funpop! I love this album from start to finish. She put her soul into these songs, knew how to laugh at herself and gave us some color!

Time after Time is one of her best songs ever!

Definitely some very cool 80s music. Upbeat as well.. That's my kinda music. Her popularity reminded me of Madonna.. I guess "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" was sort of an anthem for a lot of teenage girls when I was growing up. That certainly helped. She's had plenty of hits over the years...

Indeed, she had a serious impact on the 80s pop scene. I've always considered "Girls just want to have fun" as being the very best song to represent that unforgettable decade.

Amazing that so many awesome hits are found on this album. It was fresh, new and... unusual.

Here's a couple reasons to love Cyndi:

1) Captain Lou Albano was in the videos for "Girls just wanna have fun" and "Time after time". She started the whole Rock-N-Wrestling thing in the 80's!!!
2) "When you were mine" was originally by Prince!!!! She did a great job on the song!

Gotta love Captain Lou Albano :) Which he was also in her Goonies R Good Enough video along with other wrestlers of that time....god how I loved it!!! I remember when they aired it on MTV they had it split in two parts and I would get so upset when they didn't play them back-to-back:laugh:

cyndi lauper was defintely unsually awesome.

one more thing: my son reminds me everytime "time after time" comes on that Miles Davis wrote that song and that cyndi lauper covered it and put her own flair to it. My son is a jazz musician, trumpet, and says it every time it never fails...he even points out where the changes are. i remind him that not everyone will remember Miles wrote it and will always remember that cyndi lauper made it a hit.
