Okay! Here we are! A new section. This section will be used to post information about the current poll (well, we don't really have one yet), future polls, and the results from past polls. Hmmmm...so what is it we should do here? Come up with ideas for polls? First, I think they should all be narrowed down to as specific a topic as possible. In other words, we can't really have 'favorite 80's movie' as it's too general...we'd need a few hundred items on that one.

I'm just gonna throw some ideas on the table:

Like for movies you'd have:

Best 80's High School type movie (exp. Breakfast Club, Fast Times, etc.)
Best 80's Horror movie
Best 80's Comedy

You get the picture <img src="wink.gif" border="0"> Same for music...split the polls by specific genre.

Then stuff like 'Favorite 80's toy', 'Favorite Sitcom', etc.

Totally agree with you, Roemello. Just like the Academy awards, we are going to have to be very specific on what it is we are voting on - Favorite 80's American sports car, Favorite Imported 80's sports car, etc...

How about with fashion.....favorite 80's hairstyle...could do a men's and women's.

Will there be a limit of choices for the catagories? Like would there be a limit of say 10 or 15 "Best 80's Horror Movie" to be voted on or an unlimited list of choices?

How about "Best 80's Lyrics Site" or "Best 80's Website" (excluding "The very best 80sxchange.com of coarse).

Best cartoon character? Best Cartoon? Worst cartoon? Best Aussie group? Best American group? Best UK group?

I think there would definitely need to be a set limit with this Sarg...assuming Sal is using the current polling system on the front page to conduct the polls <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

An idea just hit me as to how we can decide what goes into what poll when we get all our categories straightened out...

Ok, we can make separate topics in this forum for each category. Each of us will choose 5-10 of our favorites to be in the poll. From those results, we can pick the most frequently chosen picks to place into the final poll.

Think that could work?
