Hi all. If any of you have ever wanted your work visable to the world (especially the 80's world) now's your opportunity.

Over the passed couple of years, I've mentioned a few times that I wanted a good 80's decade time line fully featured with short articles and pictures, which songs topped the charts, television shows, movies, etcetera. You get the idea..

Well, since I don't have enough time on my hands to do it myself, I'm looking for a participant or multiple participants.

Are you interested? If so, please reply to this message with any ideas or what YOU would like to see.

This will be another MAJOR 80sxchange.com upgrade which I will give more weight to than our latest 80's album review section.

I can help looking up info on the net if you need it. I also have some Rock Yearbooks that have dates of when certain things happened (unfortunately I don't have a book for every year). It sounds like a good idea to make a timeline.

Okay. It sounds like we've got some participants this time around.. Shall I create a forum somewhere so people can just add in an event that THEY would like listed on the page for that year??

I have lists of every #1 song of the 80's Billboard pop, country, R&B, Album Rock, Modern Rock and Adult Contemporary charts as well as every #1 pop song in the UK. They are listed with the dates they hit #1 as well.
Just say the word and I'll give them to you.

Wow. That would be great, DJDaffy! Pop Charts for the UK. Would I need any certain permissions to use them? I'll start a new section for that information...

I have them in The Guiness Book of British Hit singles. I don't know any of the legal mumbo jumbo but if you can work it out...I'd be more then happy to pass it along. I don't think it would be any different than the Billboard chart info you already have posted.

Hi Sal.

I would definately like to participate anyway I can. :D
Ive always wanted to be an active particiapnt in this I just wasnt ever sure how I could.
As far as your time line goes not only do we need the major events and musical ideal that effected our favorite decade. But also highlights of our favorite artists lives through this decade? That maybe too much info to deal with ,not exactly sure.

I had another idea though I wanted to throw at you and see what you think.
When I did work in a music store during my college days I noted that many releases had different track listings. For example say Duran Duran's Wedding Album was released in the Uk With Extra tracks and an extra CD as opposed to its American counter part.
I think it would be neat to have somewhere a listing of our favorite 80s artist with these different listings that way a collector could be informed of the different release and other music that they may not have or know about.
There are full releases of artists ( especially of the meatal genre that so many love on this site) in Japan that never get released state side.
I think that the fans here would love to know this info and find out about either full releases or track that they are missing from their favorite artist that they never knew exsisted.

Ok, Im starting to ramble about this .
Let me know what I can do
Thanks
MM

Biographies. Another good idea that will attach to the Album Reviews section in time. I will probably use the forum we have now, I think it's called 80's Biographies. We'll take the information on those pages and create new pages linkable from the reviews pages. :)
