Hi everyone. As you have noticed, we've updated to the latest version of the UBB software. It may seem a little bland, but it's only going to get better from here. We'll be installing new modifications from time to time and Infopop will be adding new features shortly. Right now the top priority is to catch any bugs which may be lingering from the move. It was a BIG change! So a few things may be a little wacky. I'll be fixing the images to look better soon too.

Speed! The speed will be improved here! I think drastically! It seems to me that things are moving better already. I have 87,000 tons of garbage to remove from the server. When I get to that, things will move even faster.. So, this was a good move. But like I mentioned, it may seem a bit boring compared to the old board. That will change with time...

Lot's of errors popped up when I came in :p Guess this is still a major work in process. One new feature that'll probably drive me a little batty is the necessity to use cookies :p I'll get over it I guess...

Yea, this new look will take some getting used to. But, I didn't care for the dark background at first, either. So, what do I know? Above that 'rate member' is a member number. What is that?

I wasn't having any problems either....I think the problems were only occuring with the newer members....I told ya this place was gonna explode with the recent rush of new members! lol ;)

Roemello. Can you explain to me about "Lot's of errors popped up when I came in"? Are they run-time errors or something? Are you still getting them? I'm getting them here at my office but I always get that stuff here. I think it's the browser. I was going to put it off and forget about it but if you're getting it too, then there's a problem...

Hmmm. Love the new look, but I do have to admit to a little apprehension at the whole "Rating Members" bit. Makes it seem like a popularity contest. Guess I'll just wait and see how this plays out.

I have not re-registered, and I registered a loooooong time ago....

I noticed that...lots of errors with member #'s as far as when people actually registered. When we only had 1005 members, one member had a member # of 1007! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies/laugh.gif

It says i'm member #438 when I should be #975 or so. Remember I had to reregister because something went wrong with my account. It might say that I was #999. Just thought I would let you know if you try to correct it.

You can disregard the member # stuff. It's just the way the program compiled the list of users when it was converted to this new setup. There'e really nothing that can be done about it - unless one day they come out with a solution that takes the number and switches it by the registration date. But, that might open up a whole new can of worms. So I have a feeling that wont happen right away. I don't know for sure why they like having user numbers - but they do. I don't think I can turn that off, either...

Custom titles will come back in time. I can't be sure when, though... Same with smilies... In time. I still have them all saved...

I hope you can retrieve the old member #'s. I was really psyched about being member #1000! Since I joined, I've been wanted to add to the list of lost hits of the 80s. When will those lines be reactivated?

I think 80's Eric is talking about the Homepage. You can click on the link at the bottom that says "Forgotten hits of the 80's you call 'em" but it doesn't do anything. You have to go to active topics at the top to get in.
