Actually, I do have one. It's a little lengthy though so bear with me. On May 4, my wife and I will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. But, we have a lot of other things going on right before and right after so are money is really tight. We are going to drive to Missouri (a 10 hour trip) the week before and our baby will turn a year old right before that. Then we will start planning and saving for my son's birthday party. We'll spend around $100 on the baby's party, about $1000 on the trip to Missouri and close to $200 on my son's party. I feel like I am neglecting this major milestone in our marriage but I know there just won't be enough money for us to take a trip or do something special. What I need are some inexpensive ideas that will make this day special for my wife until we can save some money and celebrate properly. Come on ladies, what would make you happy given the financial status I have described here? A day of pampering perhaps (massage, makeover, manicure, pedicure)? I need help!

I like the day of pampering idea. If you could, get a babysitter for the evening. A romantic dinner after everything else would be perfect. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif I know I would enjoy it.

Red, My hubby and I celebrated our 10 year last June, and we were pretty much BROKE! He was worried about what he could do that was special...he finally bought me some flowers, hired a babysitter, took me out for dinner and a movie! It's not that expensive, and I really enjoyed it! Pampering sounds nice too! A massage would be great!!!
There are lots of things you could do that would make her feel extra special.......
Oh, he also made me..."love coupons" Like ...1 night of renting movies of your choice with no complaints from other family members." (you can also do other ones that are more erotic, too! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//wink.gif ) I'm sure that she'll love anything that you do for her!

Now that was very sweet of him Myst, that coupon idea was very imaginative http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif My husband has no imagination at all http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//frown.gif

I agree with all the girls, a romantic dinner... It's the thought that counts Mayham http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

Wow, I don't think I can submit any ideas that might be as good as the ones stated prior...you should definitely get a babysitter, though. You should also do something together. Maybe YOU could do the massaging instead of paying someone else to do it. That could be fun.

Actually, I've studied various massaging techniques (strictly amateur stuff), so I give a pretty mean massage. I was thinking of a professionnal masseuse. There not that expensive.

Well since this has turned into a "What do I do for our anniversary" thread, I'm going to ask the same question. My wife and I are going to be celebrating our 27th anniversary next month, and I'd like to plan out a special day for her. Any suggestions for me?

Hey, annual_mayhem. How about you hire a sitter and take her on a picnic? Inexpensive, but you could spend some good quality time together. I personally always enjoyed things like that with my significant others. Might work for you also, Sarge.

BTW... Don't have a significant other at the moment (think I work to much). Any takers? http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//biggrin.gif

Wow! 27 years! CONGRATULATIONS, Sarg! Quite the milestone. Are you in the same boat as Red....limited $$$, or are you willing/able to spend a bit? That will help on what to decide! Get back to us, and we can go from here! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//wink.gif

No, I'm not in the same boat... yet!
I mean whatever we come up with, won't include a European vacation, but I can do a few hundred for the occasion... of course she just read this post over my shoulder, and said "about twenty bucks!" http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif

I just bought a minivan last weekend, and she and my daughter are planning a wedding for next year, so she's planning on getting poor real fast! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif In the meantime, I'm open to any suggestions. Our celebration will probably be spent some place in Florida unless I win the lottery, but I'm not counting on it! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

I think you should spend more than $20. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif I'll give it some thought and see if I can come up with anything really good. I used to live in florida myself. Has to be something you can do there. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

How about spending a nice romantic weekend at the beach? Or, you could do DISNEYWORLD!! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif I personally like the beach one...get a room with a jacuzzi in it.......champagne, strawberries, romantic music.....(don't forget the love coupons! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//wink.gif ) Need more? Let me know.

Oooohh! I like the room with Jacuzzi, champagne, strawberries, and romantic music. I'll have to look into that one!

Maybe a nice day at one of the theme parks (this time without kids), and a room at one of the resorts instead of driving the 35 minute ride home, sounds very nice.
In fact there's a resort not far from Disney that rents out these really nice, cozy cabins. We visited that resort a couple of years ago, and wifey loved it. I forgot all about them until now.

Keep the ideas coming gang!

Thanks, Dawn http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

OK! Whats happening here? Somebody heeeelp!

I posted three times on here yesterday and my post never showed up on screen, all of a sudden I'm back to check this thread today, and now ALL THREE show up!
If Sal or another moderator could remove two of those, I would appreciate it.

Sorry about that! http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//frown.gif

Took care of it for you Sarg. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif Not sure why it did that. Sounds like Dawn gave you some good ideas though. I can't wait till I came out to Orlando in Sept. Wanting to go to Disney again myself. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//biggrin.gif Great place to go.

Thanks Jazzmyn, When you come down in September you should also check out Universal Studios. That place is growing all the time with the addition of "Islands of Adventure, new resorts going up, the Hard Rock Hotel, and City Walk with restaurants, shops, bars, and dance clubs.

Went to the City Walk last time I was there. Took my friend to the Hard Rock on her birthday for dinner. So much stuff to do there, but also expensive. We'll see what the plans include. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//laugh.gif
