It actually would be anonymous for unregistered users.

To tell you the truth, I didn't check the IP to find that out. It just so happened that the night of the posting, there were no 'guests' on the board (besides me) and I think cultleader may have been the only registered user on at the time....deductive logic suggested it just had to be him (I did make the check afterwords just to confirm and make sure I didn't post that to a stranger though http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//tongue.gif).

IP's are just numbers....they don't say exactly who you are http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

If you want to remain completely anonymous, then you could always route your login through a proxy server. Only their IP shows, never yours.

When I said Roemello figured out who posted the first anonymous message by looking at their IP address. I looked at the IP addresses of both posters and they were both the same so I figured that was the answer. http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif

Ok, here's the scoop on how I figured that one out. I happened to be on-line at the same time you posted it. I then looked to the 'Who's on-line' page and noticed that this 'I_have_the_sight' was posting to the Member's Lounge at a certain time. Now I know unregistered users can't post up there, so when your reply popped up at the exact same time this 'I_have_the_sight' character was posting to the Member's Lounge....knew it had to be you http://www.80sxchange.com/ubb/smilies//smile.gif
