What I'm about to say might make some people mad at me, but I am a person that believes in saying what I feel. In the last month in the Member's Lounge there has been a LOT of these Love type forums. That is fine and all, but there are so many now that when a legitimate new topic comes up it tends to get buried under all of the Love forums and sometimes do not get answered by all or not at all.

I know we all want to make our milestones and i'm all for that. Let's try to at least be creative and think of new topics to discuss. Today was a great day for that and I am looking forward to more. I don't need a forum to tell you guys that I love you because you already know I do because I am here every single day! Maybe let's try to make one love forum that contains hugs, kisses, nookie, etc. That way all the other topics will not be lost. I think Ted had tried to do that with the Love Forum and it didn't work. At least think about it guys. I do want to hear everyone's opinion on this.

I agree, actually. That's why I don't go into all of them in the same day. It was fun at first, but it's turning into "IT", sorta. One forum would be fine with me.

However, it's not easy to keep up when there are 50 new topics, either. Some of the topics that I'm not interested in, I just stay out of. That way, I keep up with what I want to and let everyone else have their fun. If everyone wants to keep all those love type topics separate, it's not that hard to go back a page.

Maybe you could make this a poll instead, Stacy, give it a week so everyone can answer, and that way you'll know if you can talk to a mod about combining the forums? Just an idea!

Maybe we could put the crazy threads down with stuff from our members that way for those that need a room or are just helping each other reach their milestones (guilty as charged :) ) Can still go nuts but it doesn't detract from the day to day topics of conversation :)

How about we move this Sal? Notman? Roem? And at the sametime we're all creative wacky people Iluv is right :) we should all think of some great topics so when new members start lurking they don't think we're sex loonies (new thread idea for all of it in the Stuff section) and maybe we'll reach our big goal - more members getting involved and bringing in some more great people.

agreed Stacey! I applaud you for your honesty... to be truthful with you.. I avoid those forums unless prompted by someone to respond to them... They just get to be too much to sort through..

That is one of the things I wanted to add awhile ago. I noticed lately the new signups for members has been slowing down while another UBB 80's boards has been growing and fast! I want us to stay #1 because this site rocks. If new members come in and see that, they might not quite understand and get turned off by it and leave. We know what it is all about, but they don't.

I totally agree, That's why I made the love forum. Everyone should just use that instead so, all the other topics don't get buried.

I still think it maybe a good idea to move those threads though Ted. Members lounge is one of the first place people come when they start looking around. :)

Stacy, I was just saying that to Taz and Mystie awhile ago....but I didn't want to bring it up because it appears that alot of people enjoy them.

I think they shouldn't be in the "Stuff From Our Members" forum though. They should get their own forum! To have them in the Members Lounge section, anyone who wanders in will think we have nothing better to talk about!

This is something I've been wanting to say for quite a while, but I really hate to be a party pooper if everyone's having a good time.

If it were my choice, there would never have been more than the hugs forum, but no one forwarded any complaints my way, so I assumed all were enjoying it and just let it roll. I noticed it's having, not in as high a degree, but still having that negative effect on new active member sign-ups as happened before when people (myself included for a stint) started using the forums as an instant messenger...that's when the chat needed to be adopted.

Anyway, honestly, I could do without all the fluff topics, but I'll run a poll in a moment and see what everyone would prefer to do, then act on it accordingly :)

I just want to thank everyone for their input. I love this place and I want to see all of Sal's dreams happen for this place. Don't get me wrong, i'm not offended by any of those forums but others might. I just hope you choose to do the right thing. I think it is a good idea if those topics have their own little location. I want to see this place grow and grow memberwise!

I don't think they should have a separate forum...I mean, this is still an 80's forum and those things have about as much to do with the 80's as the 90's :p We got loads of forum areas already...we actually did some house cleaning so to speak to fuse certain topics together to make things less cluttered and increase the speed and ease of use of the site....now then....off to the polls!

Iīll say all those Love Topics are a great distraction from time to time, but basically, you are right.

I donīt know how many posts which were adressed to me drowned without any response...Iīm a slow reader, and by the lots of postings here, I simply canīt always keep the pace.

On the other hand, one of my reasons for my frequent visits here is the fact that I can goof around sometimes without getting rebuked for "off topics".
This might actually scare away some people who are visiting this site first.

Combining them in a separate forum would be a good idea. So Roem...get out your magic wand once again... ;)

lol...I hope you mean confine them all to one topic, not forum. A entire separate forum area dedicated to fluff is quite unlikely...one topic in the Member's Lounge is probably the most likely to be done solution...

What exactly are we defining as fluff? Where do the lines begin to blur. I think we should make that pretty clear too :)

Pie, wedgie, smoochie, hugs, love, nookie, are definitely fluff - fun while it was going on fluff but...Fluff. What else falls under this. Honestly :)

Fluff topics are simply those that aren't actual discussions...

So what about quizes? These are fun to share and get a laugh but should we maybe be doing these in the 80s list or trivia or something?

Thanks for starting this Stacy. I think a lot of us were starting to get a little burned out on these topics but weren't sure how to bring it up. Thanks for starting up this topic and letting people express their opinion on it. :)

I can throw pie, give wedgies, smoochies, hugs, love & nookie all in one topic! I am talented that way. :p

Quizzes are ok to stay for the simple reason that there is an end to them and we don't take them everyday.

You take the test, you post the results and possibly throw in a post or two to comment on others results. Key word here is there's a foreseeable end to the quiz topics unlike those other fluff topics :D

I'm trying to keep this at the top, so everyone can get a opinion in over the weekend. Also, please vote in Roem's forum about what we should do about "fluff"?

Ok, how's this...I'll bump it up so it stays topped over the weekend so everyone will get their chance to voice an opinion on the matter...when I get back Sunday night, I guess we'll take it from there...

Great idea, Roem. Thanks! Now everyone will see it.

Here is my input...Yes, we did have to many and they were getting old and hard to keep on! :p I say, make them all into one topic either in 'memebers lounge' or 'stuff from members'.

I enjoy goofing with everyone. :p When I am having a bad day it would help to have someplace/ONEplace to go and get a hug or nookie ect. :D

Thanks Stacy for bringing it up :)

I have to confess, I have never posted in any of the love, nookie, tag or hugs forums!!! They never overly interested me, and they usually became so long with so many pages to view, it would have been an arduous task to even try! I think one topic/forum should be sufficient!

I think that when most of us want to leave a smooch or hug for one of our friends we usually just hit the forum that we see first. Not often you'd see someone do the rounds on all of them at the same time anyway. One topic should be more than sufficient I would think.

I'm actually glad you broached the subject. I'll state it publicly right now that I was becoming concerned with the number of threads like this taking up the Member's Lounge. I know that people enjoy them, but we are judged by newcomers on what they read and perceive. I just didn't see those topics being relevant to the 80's.

I'm glad you brought it up too. When those "fluff" topics get 8 pages long within a week, it makes it hard to nagivate thru them. I don't visit them much, but agree they need to be more contained. I don't mind them, but they aren't really pertinent to the 80s.
