View Full Version : What's that small thing you splurge on even when you can't afford it?
I love candles! I have at least 2 or 3 going when I'm home and I love the scents. I could be spending my money on something less frivolous but its a great pick me up to go to the boutique get high off the scents and bring some tall and votives home :)
Poison PJ 10-12-01, 08:00 PM Junk Food :D
CDs! Definitely CDs. And I mustn't forget makeup and all that girly stuff.... I can only go in Origins if I truly intend to buy something, because I know just walking through the door will hit me for at least ten bucks. Heh.
I forgot nail polish. I don't wear half the colors I buy but I can't leave Shoppers Drugmart without buying something girly :)

Hey, that was a special purchase!! I only wear it when you're around, anyway ;)! **SMOOCHES** Miss ya!!
I splurge on....Bath and Body Works. Don't send me in with less than $20, that's just mean. :) LOL And I will justify how the buy two get one free deal is NOT to be passed up!! But, hey, I always smell good!! Warm Vanilla Sugar, Sweet Pea, and Crystal Breeze are my faves, in that order. I may be going in tomorrow......
Puleeze! Have you tried the Zen Garden products yet?
I'm totally in love with the satsuma blossoms lotion. The Venus grapefruit bath salts are great too :)

NO! Is this stuff at Bath and Body Works?? See, now I definitely HAVE to go tomorrow!! I try to only go when I start running out of stuff so I don't buy the whole store!
We used to have Crabtree and Evelyn but it turned into Bath and Bodyworks maybe some of the products are different in Canada The girl did say it was a fairly new product.
This stuff is so good to smell, I could walk around all day smelling myself - lol that didn't sound to good. I like this scent anyways :) I hope to find a candle scent like that so my whole house will smell like it :)
I'll try to let you know tomorrow if they have it here yet. I hope they are having a sale. But since I quit smoking and I don't really drink, I think I should be allowed the one extravagence, because hubby still smokes AND buys beer all the time!! (Does this sound like a viable argument to any of the guys out there? LOL)
I don't know about the guys but it works for me LOL - thats my strategy but I've never had to actually use it on my hubby :)
Happy shopping :)
morningmyst 10-13-01, 05:50 AM Candles......they are my weakness.....I always have candles going in my house. It always smells good!!!
ImSoooSure 10-13-01, 05:54 AM Ted, ya wanna go shopping? I love leather.
I buy boots a lot. Leather boots, does it get any better? :)
ImSoooSure 10-13-01, 05:57 AM Oops! It's supposed to be small things. Boots are not really small purchases. Sorry! I collect penguins so I will buy a really cute penguin even if I'm broke.
Jazzmyn 10-13-01, 06:08 AM I love candles. Always have them around. Plus I collect witch figurines, Pepe Le Pew, and Tigger. lol I guess I'm just a little odd. Books are my big weakness. I always need something around to read. Already have plans to buy a new book on Tuesday. :)
Iluvthe80s 10-13-01, 07:16 AM I love candles too. We always keep a tin full of primarily Vanilla and a few other scents at all times.
Roemello 10-13-01, 07:18 AM Here's something I'm splurging....my time..lol. While I should be going to bed, I'm throwing one more helping hand out to Iluv80s to reach her milestone that she's been posting for hours and hours and hours to attain...lol ;)
xistenza 10-13-01, 11:18 PM Hands down, CDs. If there's a CD I want, NOTHING stops me from buying it. (not such a good thing, but oh well).
All the other things I can go without if I don't have the money.
Electronic gadgets from Sharper Image or stuff off of e-bay. I'm a junkie...

I went :(. They didn't have them. I didn't have to twist hubby's arm, either, he just said, 'OK'.
I thought Crystal Breeze was the name of my third fave, but it was the one my friend and I didn't like. I accidentally bought it :(. I am taking it back Tues. after my doctor appointment, though, and getting my Fresh Waterfall Mist! :) I was standing there, and something told me I grabbed the wrong one, but I wanted to hurry so I didn't buy extras!! I did catch a 3 for $24 sale, so I got just what I needed and left!
Maybe it will be there closer to Christmas. i was a very good girl today I didn't buy anything while I was there but I did ask the girl about the Zen and she said that so far they were in Canada but it was a brand new product line so it should come to you soon :)
Then I went next door to Madrigal and bought 3 candles (so I was a bad girl after all). :)

Ditto. Just add used records to that as well. Still love my records!
CD's & DVD's! Oh yeah, I'll join Roem in the DVD'aholics catagory. LOL :D
I was trying to figure out what i splurge on. And i can't come up with one thing. If i have extra money (which is unlikely) I spend it on the kids.
It has been a long time since i bought myself anything.

That is my weakness too. :) I am doing OK with the CD's, but as for DVD's I just bought myself a DVD player a couple of months ago and I have probably 15+ movies already. I think my next DVD is going to be An American werewolf in London. This movie was great on VHS I can't begin to imagine it on DVD......Man I love my home theater system! :D

LOL Sure! I love shopping!, (shut up TC!) lol :)
Jazzmyn 10-20-01, 08:02 PM I just bought a book today that I really didn't need. lol I need to stay away from book stores. I get into trouble when I go in. ;) At least now I have a book to read on the plane. :)
LOL Jazzy I think we are on the same wavelenght.
I did the samething yesterday. I stood there and had a debate. I could go to the library (hours don't match mine), I could go to a used bookstore(but I'm here now), I could borrow a book from a friend ( it was 10:30 - I don't think they'd appreciate the call LOL) so I bought a really cheesy no brainer book for pure entertainment and I'm enjoying every page of it. :)
Jazzmyn 10-21-01, 06:39 PM You just have to do that sometimes Zel. lol Of course I'm almost done with mine now. ;)
