Do you live in a apartment or are you fortunate enough to live in a house? I live in an apartment and wish I could own a house.

We started ou in a dinky apartment, moved to a 2 bedroom dinky apartment, then to a duplex where you could breathe, and now we are buying a house that my hubby loves. Houses are nicer, but upkeep is harder. When you're the landlord, you have to fix whatever breaks.

I live in a "cozy" 2 bedroom apartment. It's teny tiny, can hardly move! lol

The first 22 years and 10 months of my life were spent in an apartment with mom in the ass end of town (ghetto, 'hood, ya know :p) Actually, the first 6-7 were in one apartment, then we moved to another where we lived for the remaining 15.

As of May 19, 2000, with some help from family and a good job (soon to be a lot better once I graduate in May), I have a home on a nice, quiet little dead end street :D

House here. I spent college in apartments, as well as the first two years I was married. It took several years of renting before we could finally buy one of our own 'tho. I like having the yard space with a house.

yard space...*sigh* maybe someday...lol. I have no yard and my house is a puny little thing compared to the rest of the street, just ask Pagan....he's seen it from outside :p

Buddy...it's a roof over your head. Consider yourself lucky! The guy living in the refrigerator box in Times Square would think it's a mansion!

As for me, a one bedroom co-op....for now.

Believe me..I KNOW!! :D When the opportunity presented itself, I grabbed it without hesitation to get in here....love the house and the location. To be able to sleep at night without spanish music booming over my head is worth it's weight in platinum for me! lol :D

We have a house. 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms - a must have with teenagers. Our yard is pretty little but we set up the deck to entertain and if we want a yard well we go to the cottage for that sort of thing.

My first 6 years living on my own I lived in lots of apartments and I don't ever want to go backt to that - what would I do with all my stuff :)

I'm very lucky to have what I do :)

I live in a nice three bedroom, three and a half baths home in a nice neighborhood. I like the nice, large back yard with privacy fence the most!

I want to buy a house so bad because I am sick of apartment life. The houses have went up so much here that we can't afford them. The one thing I miss is having a front yard.

I am in an apartment. No yard or porch! I miss not being able to get up early and sitting on the porch. :p

I LOVE living on my own!!! At home(moms) it gets kinda crazy! Here I can do what I want, when I want!

It has one bedroom, a living room / kitchen combo and a middle room, which I use for my computer. It works for me! :D I love having guests, so all(except Ted ;)) are invited!

House for the past two years. So glad to be out of apartments. Couldn't do that again unless it was smack-dab in the middle of downtown (and that would cost more than my house LOL). :)

My apartment is a one bedroom with a bedroom, kitchen, dining room, bathroom and living room. We have outgrown it and I have to put part of my stuff in storage because there is not enough room.

Joe and I own a house in the country, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large eat-in kitchen, good sized living room, laundry room, mud room (tons of storage)... Large front yard and even larger back yard that's fenced in with a swimming pool and swing-set, big back patio with benches. Lots of beautiful trees and tons of quiet! we live across the street from a field that goes for miles.. so no neighbors across the street... we love living in the country!

Before this, we rented a townhouse that was pretty nice, too... but owning is where it's at!

There is only one problem when you do move to a bigger home (apartment or house). You first move in and think you couldn't possibly fill up the house. 3 years later the entire basement is the kids and my husbands domain and its full of junk. My husband likes to tear things apart - the engineer in him I guess but people are always giving him things to tear apart - which he does. He just doesn't get rid of the stuff he doesn't want. I guess it could be worse and I could have a motorcycle in my kitchen (jk) or a carborator in my tub (over my dead body) but there are downsides to getting more space :)

I would be happy if I could at least get a two bedroom duplex. I have so much stuff and so does my boyfriend. It would be nice for him to have a room just for his guitar equipment. He has his guitars, speaker cabinets, amps, etc. in the living room because we have no where else to put it.

Pre Sept 11th I lived in a one bedroom teeny tiny house with most of my stuff in storage. This allowed us to save up for building a nice big house on 5 acres we moved into on sept 11th. Of course I will never forget the date we moved in and it actually makes me appreciate what we have even more!

I live in a big house out in the country.(farms are usually out in the country... ) 5 minute drive to town and a highway close by, so it's not REALLY quiet, but good enough for me. :)

I love the open spaces, (about 100 acres with the farm in the centre) and my huge lawn with lotsa apple trees and birches!

I tried living in a house in the outskirts of town, not far from the farm, but I didn't really like it... There's nothing like the country side! :D

I live in an apartment now which is really hard for me. I have my own home in Kentucky and it was very hard to become re-adjusted to apartment life. Noisy neighbors suck!

I live in a 3 bedroom apt with a dinning room and living room. It's nice until we can find a house. I really would like to have my own parking space and a yard. :)

Sounds like you have a nice place Milani :) My neighbors are to damn close! I guess that is the price you pay for living in the city. :(

I've owned two houses in past years and now I live in a duplex, one of four our landlord owns. I miss the space of my houses, but I don't miss the repair costs, cutting the grass, and every other maintenance that's needed for up-keep.
My wife and I manage all four duplexes, and we do the minor repairs, cleaning, painting, and renting when they become vacant. We've been working on two of the apartments the last couple of weeks and taking care of my mother, which is why I haven't been posting as much lately.

*sigh* Guess I'll have to help the helples kitty out... ;)

It's easy really. When I want to respond to two separate posts in one stroke, I simply right click on "Quote" for the first one and chose to open it in a new window. Do the same for the second one also. Then go into the new window, copy the text and paste it into your window that you are using to reply with. Simple, huh?

Now give us a smooch... :p

We live in a house, in fact we built it! We acted as the general contractors & hired all the subs (plumbers, framers, etc.). This is the 2nd house we've built and we wouldn't do it any other way. However, I would not advise you try this unless you are already insane. It has to be the hardest, most trying thing we've ever done.

ROFL! You guys are a riot. I love this board, unexpected laughs everywhere.

I live in a big 2-bedroom apartment, where I've been for the past five years or so. I've lived in apartments much of my life, (age 10 to age 26) [edit: I meant with my family, from ages 10 to 22! silly me :D ] so I'm used to it, but I really, really want a house. I need a garden. Our apartment is nice, a good value for the rent, and our landlord is a peach, but it's getting old.

We are slowly but surely saving that down payment. Whenever my husband gets a tenure-track job, we'll be buying. Probably three or four years from now. Yay.

2-room apartment here...in a not-that-good side of the town.
Oh, we donīt have those fancy drive-by shootings (not yet... ;)), but most of the neighbourhood isnīt exactly the kind of people Iīd like to get friends with. Especially when some certain azzholes come home in the night, letting their engines scream 2-3 times before shutting it off and keep on listening their music at full volume for another 15 minutes (the apartment is street level with the bedroom facing the street). Besides, the living room heats up like a oven in the summer and you can hardly avoid frost boils in the winter.

So next year, itīs do or die - weīre moving out of this apartment, even a refrigerator cardbox would be a improvement... ;)
