anyone gonna watch survivor when it comes on

Survivor?? A bunch of people stranded in some forsaken African country. Their goal is to starve themselves, so they can win money. They participate in competitions so meaningless and dumb and take the defeat like it's the end of the world. And for what?? for rice, chickens, tools or for pieces of chocolate. Then there's the bad mouthing, the back stabbing, the nervous breakdowns and the constant fight over who got too much rice the day before.

Of course, I'm gonna watch! It's gonna be great!! :)

Get a bunch of rich people and put them in the middle of the ghetto and let us see if they could survive with out their money.. now that is something i would like to watch...

LOL...that would be awesome! :D I grew up in the ass end of town myself and hung out in some of the worst of the worst in this state...I think most of them ritzy folk wouldn't last the first week...and that's giving some credit :p

Only problem is, to make it real, they'd have to attach cameras to the contestants and leave them on their own...no camera people, no nothing...

Depending on the 'hood you toss 'em in, it could be a pretty deadly game though... :eek:

Good idea, Milani! I'm just getting tired of all these reality shows period. They were fun at first, but now they are just taking it too far.

I watched Survivor last year, but I don't know if I'm going to watch it this season. It'll depend on whats on the other channels at the same time.

I'm with you Sarge I've missed the last two years because I worked nights. If the show doesn't conflict with a show I like better I might watch it. I got sucked into the Big Race and Murder in a small town X. Wait and see for me :)

Nope, not interested. The things going on in the world right now are far more interesting than those self absorbed, moviestar wannabe's on reality shows.

You too, huh? My very own nocturnal stalker. :) Sweet! A night worker here also. I taped a couple of episodes last year just to see what the hub-bub was about. Then they went and booted the guy I liked and I decided I wanted no more of it.

Oh yes, I will definitely be watching the first episode of Survivor in Africa tonight! I can't wait!!!

I've never watched a single minute of Survivor. Don't think I'll be starting this year.

Too many hockey games during the winter. :)

"Reality TV" my ass! They get to bring one "luxury item" and win "immunities". What a crock! You want reality TV? Here's my idea:

Take a bunch of people, drop them on an island with nothing, and I mean nothing. No camera crews either, have the cameras mounted all around the island remotely controlled. They're on their own for 30 days. After 30, ask who wants to leave. Keep it going until one fool is left.

Now that's how it SHOULD be done :D All it is now is a game of manipulation...it's not about who can survive best under the given conditions, it's who's the best manipulator... :p

Well I watched it (also watched Friends too) and the backstabbing and the bickering have already started. I've seen more eyerolling in one hour than I get out of my teenager in one week. I like the concept of the real deserted island no cameras much better.

No Survivor.....Just plain stupid if you ask me!

I watched Survivor Africa last night, and I have already found all the castaways to be annoying and stupid. I guess the first amazingly bone-headed thing they did was to pour out a large container of fresh water while on their way to their desert encampment. Can you say "duh"? They reasoned that they needed the food more and could find a source of clean, fresh water. Hmmm, didn't they realize that you can die of dehydration in forty-eight hours; starvation takes much, much longer! I hope they grow some brains out in the African savannah before they get eaten by a pride of lions!

I watched as well... I don;t like this cast as well.. but I guess they will grow on me like the last ones did.. (I can remember saying the same thing about the last cast the first night).. These people don't seem to respect the land and seen as in awe as the last crew did.. so far.. I want to see Clarence and Tom (the big fat old guy) go...
I was glad to see Diane go... I am voting for the red tribe at this point but that can change at any time..

I will watch it every episode.. this is the only reality tv show that I watch.. and I'll tell you.. unlike Imsooosure.. I am ready to get away from the news for a while!

I hopped back and forth between Friends and Survivor, and paid little attention to Survivor. I saw the first two, and last year's bunch were almost all 'cute' people who wanted a springboard to stardom. I probably won't pay much attention until it's almost over. But I'd like to see Clarence get the boot.

I agree with Pagan's idea. I also agree with Tinajo. I have seen enough news programs and special reports to last a month.("Look!! The President just talked for five minutes, now we will analyze for you stupid people every word he said for the next 20 minutes, until our experts show up so we can replay the President's speech and get their opinions, which should take about 20 minutes, then we will recap for you. Don't bother to change the channel, we are taking them all over!")

'Make no mistake - I am tired of the news too. 48 hours came on and I think that is a big reason I came down here. I will never forget but I am ready to put a little distance for awhile. I'm hearing Anthrax all the time now and I think part of me wants to put my head in the sand for a little bit - I have to for my kids.
