The past 24 hours have been not the greatest for me healthwise. I went to the doctor's because I was having gastritis issues, while at the doctor's office they discovered a slight heart murmur. I had an EKG and it came out fine, but I have to get an echocardiogram to see if everything is fine. I now have to take Nexium for my gastritis.
Then tonight, I called the doctor on call for my doctor's office because I have having sharp pains in my right side. He thought it might be an appendicitis, so he told me to go to the ER. I spent seven hours in the ER to find out that I don't have an appendicitis but I have an ovarian cyst. I have to get a sonogram for that and I might have to have surgery done. I know ovarian cysts are common in women, but still it freaks me out.
I'll keep everyone posted on how things go.

Molly, I'm sorry you are going through some rather difficult health issues. My sister had an ovarian cyst a year ago and she was in excruciating pain. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as always. Please, take good care of yourself and listen to your doctor's advice and I know you will be on the road to recovery very soon. :bigangel:

My Mother had one in her 30's, and as I recall she was in and out in a jiffy Molly, so don't worry yourself too much about it you'll be just fine I'm sure.

Steve, I'm not worried, I know I'll be okay. I've been reading stuff online and it looks like ovarian cysts are typical in women and most of the time they go away on their own. I'm going to make an appointment later today for a sonogram. I'll keep everyone posted.

Just an update on how things are going:

The ovarian cysts I was told I had by the ER are actually fibroids, and I went to my gyno on Friday and he wasn't concerned, since they were small.
I have gallstones and may possibly have to have gallbladder surgery. I'm meeting with the General Surgeon on May 16th. I've been trying to change my diet and cut out fatty and friend foods and eat more lean meats and produce.
I just want you guys to continue to say prayers and send healing thoughts my way. I will need it. Also, I'll update when and if I have surgery. :)

I went for my appointment with the general surgeon yesterday and I am going for a HIPA scan on May 27th. A HIPA scan is where they inject your gallbladder with radiation and it checks the functionality of the gallbladder. I have to wait 11 more days.

Well, last night I was admitted to the hospital with chest pains, but everything came out normal and my heart is just fine. The cause is either anxiety or gallbladder.
Speaking of gallbladder, I'm getting it removed. I have to call and schedule the surgery, but this totally makes me so happy. Hopefully no more discomfort. :D

Well, I found out the date of the surgery. It's going to be July 22nd at 10am. This is the earliest date I could get that didn't conflict with family events (my grandma's 90th birthday is earlier that month). I'm happy though that the light is at the end of the tunnel. :)
