I've decided to do something drastic this week. Going to chop off my hair. It's got some damage in it, so I'm just going to cut it short and start over on growing it out. Finally had it close to shoulder length too. At least my hair grows fast. Just need to take better care of it for a while. I'll try to get a pic for everyone to see. lol Do a before and after. :)

Good luck! I'm envious of your willingness to take this step. I keep wanting to get mine cut short because it's such a pain. I get it to about my shoulders and then won't get it cut for about six months 'til it's down to the middle of my back again. I wish I knew that I'd look OK with it short, but I'm too scared.

Ohhhh, good luck Jazzy. I'm one of those wacky grow out / chop off types-- right now, my hair is in a long cycle. I know well the pain of coming home from the hairdresser and crying over my lost tresses.

But, by chopping damaged hair off, you are doing the best thing for it... here's to a good haircut experience for you! :)

lol Can understand how you feel Pagan. Doesn't bother me as much though cause I've never had really long hair. Neen short most of my life. It'll grow back out too. :)

I have went through so many phazes with my hair. It will be short, then long, then short, and so on. I usually get mad at it and just go cut it because it is not cooperating like I wanted it to. Right now it is the longest it's been since about 1994. I'm trying to be patient and let it grow one length because I have had it cut in layers for years.

I chopped mine off about a year ago... :( I was sooo sad afterwards.....NEVER AGAIN!! It's just finally starting to get to where I really like it!

I can't believe y'all cry over your hair! I have had to chop my hair off from a bad perm(about and inch below my ears), to my chin because of damage, and I may have to cut it again! It's halfway down my back, but the sides don't want to grow out right and my ends are splitting. The only time I ever cried about it was the bad perm incident...I cried, I cut, no biggie to me. But I have heard where women get really emotional, so I guess I can understand. I don't get attached to my fingernails, either, but don't tell Buff!! LOL

Sounds like me about seven years ago. I got my first and only perm and it just fried my hair. Had to cut it super short and start over. I never again will get a perm!

Good luck on the haircut! My hair was pretty short for two years after it being super long for 10. Now I can almost have a half decent pony tail again. I missed most about long hair was being able to pull it back. I hate hair in my face :) Plus I figure anytime soon they will come back with big hair.

A great cut is a good pick me up :)

I did it this morning. Was a little scary. lol I love my new haircut though!! Looks so good. I'll try to get some pics taken to post on here. :)

My boyfriend refuses to accept a job that will make him cut his hair. If you really think about it, to me, it's discrimination that they would want a man to cut their hair. I look at it this way, if a woman can have long hair then a man can too.

I agree with you there Stacy. That's one of the policies I disagree with where I work. Not right to do that. Plus I like men with long hair. lol ;)

I am happy with my hair now. :) Still letting it grow a little longer. ;) I had it short about a year ago but never really liked it.
I like the color now but may go redder! :eek: I have to cut it myself because I am afraid whoever i go to will mess it up! LOL Buff helps me with the back of my hair! :p

It takes me all of 5 minutres to style my hair. I let it air dry most of the way than blow dry the ends,scrunch, tease some and spray the hell out of it! LOL :p

I need to redye my hair. (The grays are showing bad!!!!) I do cut my boyfriend's hair on the sides with one of those electric cutter things. He has long hair, but shaves the sides.

Any woman with long hair that cuts it short should be charged with a misdemeanor ;)

first of all.. I hate perms! I had one in elementary school.. it looked so stupid, I swore off them for life! If I want my hair curly, I'll sleep in soft rollers or get out the curling iron in the morning so that I can "control" what it is going to look like (unlike perms where you are stuck with it)..

My hair is getting pretty thick and long again.. I have noticed that during my pregnancy, my hair is feeling thicker lately.. I occasionaly cut my hair to just below the shoulders but that's as short as I will go... I have to be able to put it in a pony tail if I wish... and if I can't... it's too short! Right now, it's about to the middle of my back.

I also feel for ya Taz... cutting your hair for a job interview.. my husband's hair was long for years.. but the boss was harassing him daily about it for about 2 years.. making him tie it back tight... it was starting to break and tear from wearing it the way the boss made him wear it.. he finally cut it short.. and I'll tell you.. I never thought I would feel this way, but he looks so awesome with it short! It's kinda messy/spikey and really sexy! He gets alot more respect at work now.. not that it's fair that he wasn't treated with this much respect before.. but he appreciates it!

When I met Allan his hair was at his shoulders and it looked great but one day it was pissing him off and he cut it short - I loved it. He looks evil (good evil) with his short hair and a goatee :) I can't imagine him now with long hair. :)

Where have I been?? Can't believe I've been missing out on the haircut conversation!

I just got mine cut and dyed and highlighted today. I had my hair in a short angled bob, but got so tired of it. So...I had her do a shorter bob-ish cut, that's kind of uneven....with some long pieces mixed in around the front. It's a little bit angled too. I look like a total mod chick now. :D but, i love that look, so i'm super super happy!!

The color came out amazing too! She brightened my red, and put in bold bright red highlights in the front. I SOOOOO love it. And it looks like the guys like it too.....had 3 boys hit on me within a half hour of leaving the salon!! *LOL*

(hopes it will look good tomorrow when I attempt to style it... :rolleyes: )

Man, I would never get my hair chopped for a job, I guess I have been lucky by being in the music industry (music retail) where long hair can actually be a bonus, because you look the part!!! :D he heh! because my hair is spirally, it took about 100 years to grow

:( :( :( Doctor said if Al thought I was doing well, I could drive (at least around town), but said it would really be best to see this evaluation expert for a local hospital to take a driving test.

To get this out of the way: he started my physical therapy for Thursday, had more blood tests done to check for vitamin and chemical deficiencies, prenancy test was negative, and I will be in therapy for a long time.

The nerves in my neck look good, but my hand will be the last part to regenerate. "If it doesn't regenerate in two years or less, the muscles may get tired of waiting, therefore, if the nerves fix themselves the muscles will not change to reaccept them" and my hand won't get better - Ever. There isn't much hope after 2 years.
