A STRONG NORTHWEST FLOW COMBINED WITH COLD ARCTIC AIR WILL RESULT IN WIND CHILL VALUES BETWEEN MINUS 35 AND MINUS 40 OVER NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE PROVINCE TONIGHT AND EARLY THURSDAY. EXTREME WIND CHILL VALUES WILL SPREAD TO ALL REGIONS OF NEW BRUNSWICK OVERNIGHT THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY MORNING AS TEMPERATURES PLUMMET FURTHER

The high for here tomorrow is supposed to be one degree below zero. The school I work at already has a two hour delay, so I'm sure the kids are praying here too.:laugh:

Caligula 1-15-09, 04:26 AM It's supposed to hit -20 f on Friday and over the weekend with windchills as low as -48. It warms up Monday to bring me 12-16 inches of snow , right now it's -6 with a windchill of minus 31
Jefferson, Belmont Counties Issue Level 2 Snow Emergency

Around 10:30 Wednesday night the Jefferson County sheriff declared a Level 2 Snow Emergency for the county. Belmont County was placed under a Level 2 earlier that evening. Both remain under a Level 2 meaning roads are hazardous, only those who feel it is necessary to drive should do so, and drivers are encouraged to call their employers to verify that they need to report to work.

I would say we got about 4-5 inches of snow with ice underneath. . The high is going to be 8 with a wind chill of -20. Looks like I am staying home today.

Seriously, it's the dang WIND that makes it so bad!
It's BRUTAL. I was out on I-89 and I had to keep it about 90 to keep from feeling like it was going to push me over. Even at that the cops are driving by and giving me the finger.
No matter how high you run the heater in the car, it just doesn't feel warm enough, and my car normally roasts me out pretty bad.
Its warmer in some parts of alaska then it is here :D

Low temp tonight -7. High temp tomorrow 3. Wind chill to be 20 t0 25 below zero. School canceled today because of the snow. One of our nurses wrecked her car slightly yesterday and flipped her husband's truck on the highway today. Several people had near misses last night and this morning. Still getting flurries, but not too bad, just a dusting. School already canceled for tomorrow.
I'll still be going to work tomorrow.....

Schools are closed all around here tomorrow too. It's not the cold I mind so much, it's the knowledge that I can't stay outside for more than 5 minutes without becoming a human popsicle!:dammit:

Not a PC thug 1-16-09, 07:03 PM It is 9 F right now. I though I remember reading that the Fahrenheit scale was based on zero degrees being the coldest temperature that could exist. Apparently not :yikes:
Caligula 1-16-09, 09:18 PM -10 right now, it was -31 this morning,( and thats without a windchill) the coldest I've ever experienced, My truck seemed felt like it had no suspension when I left my yard (someone later told me that was because my tires were frozen. Also my brake light is coming on, and it's saying I have low brake fluid level (which I didn't have before and can't find any leaking). I'm hoping it's just that the cold has thickened the fluid and I don't have a leak.
