I have been discussing this with some other Xchangers and I am going to collect money to send flowers to the funeral home to show our support for Jen and her family in this painful time.

If you would like to contribute,a few contributions of $5 each would be nice...more if you can, less if it's what you can do. The important thing is, I want everyone to have a chance to be involved to show how many people love Jen and are thinking of her here at the 80sXchange.

This is the account that I use for our fantasy football league, several folks here have sent money to it before and can vouch for it. Every cent will go to the flowers, the account will be $0 when I'm done. Noone's name will appear on the gift, only that it's from her friends at the 80sXchange.

I have the contact info of a local florist and I'll place the order tomorrow, so time is short to donate. The visitation is Wednesday and the funeral Thursday, so if you want to donate, please hurry. (sorry for the rush!)

Just an update, I talked to the florist this afternoon, they said their flower stock is limited due to the hurricane, but they have great live plants. That's probably the way I'm going to go, since it will also give Jen something to take home & keep forever.

Yeah, a plant is a wonderful idea, Nolan. I remember when my father passed away, my Mom bought a tree in his honor. She takes care of it.

I placed the order by phone, I spoke with the owner of the floral shop, and we made a decision based on what he had available, what held up in thier climate, and of course what looked good. Here's a generic pic of the live arrangement I got.

Here is a picture of the arrangement. It is a basket with three different plants and placed in and around them are gorgeous white daisies. The plants are a peace lily, elephant ear and vermilliad. It's absolutely a stunning arrangement.
