So this might be a bit random. But I have been seeing tons of 80s toys in antique shops and shows lately. Glow worms, Teddy Ruxpin, Simon Says, etc. Are we really that old??

I use to be addicted to ebay. I would buy all the toys that I played with when I was a child, and I have quite a bit of collection but still long for more. fershur 9-08-08, 11:46 AM Yeah I am guilty of buying some them too :-). Guess it is pay back for laughing at 60s and 70s toys when I was a kid! Livinginthe80's 9-09-08, 08:51 AM I have to say i love it. when you see the toys, all of the memories come flooding back. Since i did the Rubiks cube post, i have been looking at toy catalogues, and at some stores, and it feels great to be doing it. There is a Bazaar in the inner suburbs of Melbourne. Going there is like going back in time. We are not old, we are just older than we were back then. I don't know if i would classify them as antiques. Collectibles sounds alot better i think. An antique to me is something like a Ming vase. TopCat 9-10-08, 05:45 AM I run across a good many of the toys and items we grew up with at yard sales and thrift stores. I am tempted to buy some but figure I don't need another item that collects dust. Like Milani said, our stuff is old now...considered for some odd reason...antiques. :p BrandyBlue 9-10-08, 07:59 AM I am an antique (siiiiigggghhhhhhh) |
