I have just been watching the first season of this awesome show on dvd. It was on tv here, but it was on quite late. Considering the content that is presented in the show i am not surprised. I was a little sceptical when i heard about this. I thought oh god, here we go again. Another series adaption from a franchaise of movies that doesn't have any of the original actors in it. I have to say that i have been pleasantly surprised, by how good it really is. It is quite easy to get past the different actors angle and settle into some great action and adventure. The effects are amazing, and i think that the acting is really good too. Newcomer Summer Glau fits the part well as a female Terminator as, does actor Brian Austin Green who plays Kyle Reese's brother. The music brings a whole dramatic atmosphere to the show . I thought because the original Terminator started in the 80's that this continuation of the story seemed appropriate to talk about here. I would welcome any thoughts or comments that you may have about this series. If you are a fan of the original Terminator movies then i highly reccomend that you give this a look. I can't wait for season 2 to come around.:thumb:

I think they've done a great job of it and stayed true to the movies. It took a little to get going I thought, but once Reese's brother came into it, it really picked up. I too am looking forward to season 2.

I have to admit I was a little skeptical at first, but as Season 1 progressed I was hooked. Looking forward to Season 2 starting.

I really like it. I think they have done good with the storyline. I don't like them showing it on Monday opposite football, though. In the past they replay it on the internet.

I keep meaning to watch... a show with both Brian Austin Green and Dean Winters makes me swoon! I think I'll prolly netflix the series and get it all at once.

Grrrrrrr. I turned off MNF to watch this show and it was very good until the last scene where they brought back a T-1000, i.e. the liquid metal type from T2/T3. A regular terminator is a far fetched thing, but you never know with technology. The T1000 is stupidly impossible. It was OK for the T2 movie, but not for a whole series. If I continue to watch this, it will be on replay and not on Monday. :grrr:

I just love the whole concept of seeing how somebody else sees the future. Blade runner is a classic just for it's futuristic vision. The whole concept of a future world that has been destroyed by nuclear war, seems a little far fetched now. However, across the whole Terminator story, there is a believability factor too. If you look at Skynet, then it could be a metaphor of how much we take technology for granted in our lives. How we let technology do most of the thinking for us now. I mean who carries cash around these days? i do, i'm old fashioned, but there are alot of others who don't. Everything is put onto a card, or money is drawn through EFTPOS. Watch what happens when the EFTPOS goes down, everybody gets angry or panics. We rely on technology way too much, and i believe eventually it will be our downfall. I am not worried so much about liquid Terminators, i think there are so many other great elements in this series, i am really glad that they have continued it. I mean they have had different types of robots overseas in development for years. My view is that if they can put it down on paper, then who knows what the future will bring?
