Hi, I'm searching for a song I used to have on a breakdance compilation tape from the eighties.
It's been a long time... so all I know for sure is that it featured a female voice going 'lalalalalalalalalalalala----' - a kind of sample, that was constantly repeated.
I'm not really expecting anyone to know which song I'm talking about by this description, but I'm desperately searching for this tune and any suggestion would be apprecciated. :)

It might be easier to track down the compilation. Do you recall the name of the record or the other songs on the album? About what year?

I wish I knew the name of the compilation, but no.
All I know is, that it was from the mid eighties (definitely after 82, probably before 87)...
and a few songs, that were on it:
Rock It - Herbie Hancock
Grandmaster Flash - The Message
Fun Fun - Happy Station
Cameo - Word Up
and probably Paul Hardcastle - 19 (but I might have heard this one somewhere else).

I looked at the release dates of the songs you stated were on the tape. "Word Up" by Cameo was not released until 1986. The earliest the compilation could have been released is somewhere in 1986 unless you are mistaken about "Word Up" as part of the track listing.

I did find "Fun Fun - Happy Station" and "Herbie Hancock - Rockit" on this album...
