Since it's almost memorial Day weekend I thought I'd post this thread. What are some of your favorite trip memories when you were a kid?

I would go to Boston several times for eye appointments, but my Mom and I would have some time for sight seeing. I remember going to Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market, Downtown Crossing and a few other places. Boston is a great city.
Also, I remember the trip my family took one year to Gettysburg. My Dad was actually doing an article on the battlefields and we went with another family. It was just really cool to see some of the places from the Civil War. I remember one of my friends who went stuffing my stuffed dog into one of the cannons. My Mom has a picture of it somewhere.

I think the best trip we ever took was to Story Land/Santa's Village in NH. (the two parks are actually quite a ways apart) It's fun to be able to take my little sprouts up that way now.

We went to Chicago when I was very young (5 or 6) and saw the aquarium, science museum, etc., that was fun. Then we drove back through Ontario & Quebec, I had never heard anyone speaking anything other than English before and that kind of blew my mind as a kindergartener. (I'm from a very small town in the middle of nowhere!)

My parents, sister, and I would go down to Corpus Christi a lot in the summertime.

As a kid, we'd only go camping and I loved every park we went to!!
As an adult, I'd have to say Schlitterbahn or tubing on the Frio are my favorites, or maybe Universal Studios, no ... maybe Corpus ... I just don't know ... I need to be a perpetual vacationer so I can figure it out!!!

The best times were going to Bear Rock Lakes in Wv. to fish and have a picnic.

Most of my trip away as a kid were due to sports and the teams I played on. They were always fun getting 15 jocks together on a trip and getting to stay in hotels . I did get to go to Montreal to play baseball, when I was 13, but our star pitcher got drunk and started peeing in our uniforms (he was 6'1 200lbs) and our coach wouldn't let him play . Two years later the Brewers sent a scout to watch him play.when they asked what year he would graduate he said 2010 and scout wrote he was an asshole or something along that lines down

As a family we never went anywhere other than camping as trips down south etc were always considered wasted money
