At least he's recognizing his problem and trying to get help

that's crazy because i thought they (areosmith) had promoted that they had been clean all these years after their first intial problems with drugs and alcohol. goes to say you just never know what to believe.

i hope that he gets the help he needs. he is an awesome musician and it would be a shame to lose him to substance abuse.

Addiction is a slippery slope at best. When you are a person who has these tendencies, you are always best off to shun the kind of life that helped you fuel your addiction. I don't think that he has a lifestyle that is exactly supportive of those who avoid drugs and alcohol. It just takes one slip-up for a lot of addicts to start on that road again and I would imagine that he is surrounded by the stuff all the time.

I hope he gets well and can make the changes he needs in his life to make it stick. I am glad that he recongized his problem and is getting help for it.

Am I surprised? HELL NO!

I've had experience with people (read: family members) with addictive personalities. It's very difficult to say no when it's right there in front of you.

It takes a lot of strength to admit when you have a problem, even more to work towards recovery. I wish him all the best of luck in his battle.

Addiction is in the eyes of the beholder! It's a matter of will ... do you really WANT to change or not!! Nothing will change until you really WANT it to!! But once you make up your mind ... it CAN be done!! Good luck to him.

I guess it's no real surprise, but it is in a sence, because the last thing I'd heard was that they were all clean and wouldn't even permit beer to be sold at their concerts.
I wish him the best of luck, and hope he can stay clean.
