Prefab Sprouter 5-16-08, 06:49 AM Nice sign Cal!!! You must be very proud!
chooch210 5-16-08, 08:15 AM My home town has a sign, but it only says "Bakersfield" It is a landmark and the city wanted to take it down after being there around 50 years so Buck Owens bought it and put it on his street where the "Crystal Palace" is. Buck has done great things for Bakersfield and am glad he decided to keep the sign and not let it be demolished.
Nice sign Cal
BrandyBlue 5-16-08, 09:53 AM I lived in a town in Maine that had bullet holes in its "Welcome" sign. It said "Welcome to Milo, a Friendly Little Town". I shit you not.
My Town doesn't have a welcome sign. But if it did it might read "RUN!"
I never thought about it, but I'm sure there's a "Welcome to Baton Rouge" sign around here somewhere.
Torchwood Fan 5-16-08, 11:38 AM Hmmm, never thought about it. I think Wellsville had/had one. I will have to check that out the next time I go down there.
Glenn Gulia 5-16-08, 12:50 PM There is one huge one that i could'nt find a pic for. Every road coming into the city has one of these

Tempest Frost 5-16-08, 01:41 PM The whole world can see our sign…
I am sure Martins Ferry, Ohio has some little green sign saying something about entering Martins Ferry.
The whole world can see our sign…
I too am from Hamilton. Hamilton New Zealand. :) We have a welcome sign too, but nothing special.
Nice sign! It's fun when the one "famous person" from your town comes back. The best thing we have is somebody who ran for lieutenant governor last year & was not very popular LOL.
I lived in a town in Maine that had bullet holes in its "Welcome" sign. It said "Welcome to Milo, a Friendly Little Town". I shit you not.
LOL @ Milo!! Been there! ;) (But, only on the way to somewhere else)
We had one that said "Welcome to the Village of Tiltonsville" or some such until the drunk kid went up over the rocks surrounding it and plowed it down. It's back up now, but I don't know what it says. I live here, I know where I am. And sure as heck ain't no one coming to YTR for anything but gas on their way to somewhere much more important.
Not big enough for one ... if you blink ... you'll miss us!!! One stop light town ... literally!!! OK ... maybe 2 if you count the one on the highway!!
And sure as heck ain't no one coming to YTR for anything but gas ......
OR to my shop for a haircut and tan..right?! :p
OR to my shop for a haircut and tan..right?! :p
Well, of course! I thought that went without saying, so I just went without saying it. :D
Tempest Frost 5-23-08, 10:59 PM CAT FIGHT! CAT FIGHT!
Not a PC thug 5-23-08, 11:35 PM I don't live in a town. I live in a township, which means no local taxes :)
Unless the next job I get is in a city.
Anyway, there are signs stating welcome to green township.
CAT FIGHT! CAT FIGHT!
Naa..once a bitch always a bitch.
Cal that rules! Didn't know Cap'n Crosby was from your town!
I grew up in the Bronx...I think our sign said "Welcome to the Bronx, now get the f*ck out of here."

LMFAO!! You're too funny.
TC's actually says: "Welcome! Come on in!" in front and "Welcome! Open for Business" on the back, but I won't squabble about details. ;)
Ummmm....I've been drinking a smidge after about 8 months, so if that can be taken in a bad way, I meant the funny way.

Hey now! ::tsk: I require knocking before entering. And the back door is always locked. :p
Unlike Val who has a revolving welcome sign. Jaspers sign says "Welcome you are the 30,000th visitor."

Jackson, Mississippi (http://www.jacksonms.gov) has a welcome sign, which reads:
