Tonight, I went to a board of director's meeting for a local health food coop I'm part of. I go because I find it interesting to see how the coop works and I care about this place. Well, after I left the meeting because they were having an executive meeting just for the members of the board I get this message from the President of the board. I called her back and she told me because there was a vacancy in the board that they thought I would be a good addition to the board. This means a lot to me, because I ran last year, but didn't get in. I'm going to be working my butt off now and this is the first time I've ever been on any board of directors. But this is the best place to be a member of the board because all the board members are really great. I'm just doing the happy dance right now. :hyper::happy::bouncy:

Thanks again, everyone. I'm still in shock over the news. The great part is I will get a stipend of store credit for my work with the board. This is wonderful, because I love shopping at the Coop, and it's tough sometimes because the products are so expensive. Now I will have a say in the running of the place that I love. :)

Just to clarify, by coop, do you mean co-op or is there really a store called Coop? What?! Like no one else was wondering! :lol:

You know what else, Molly? You can use this opportunity to learn about all sorts of things that will really spice up your resume. ;) Did I miss a thread about what happened with your last interview? How'd that go?

Yeah, Val, it's Co-op as in Cooperative. It's not a coop like a chicken coop. :lol:

The last interview didn't go well and I'm glad, because I learned the company was doing some illegal things and the atmosphere seemed to be very chaotic. I'm waiting to hear about another job right now, and it looks really good. *keeps fingers crossed*
